Deshaun garbage time won my fantasy game for me.

 

Theory being otherwise WRs would willingly go out of bounds to create more space/deception, which is not what the league wants. So if you go out of bounds, you cant be the first to touch the ball, which basically renders you useless once you step out.

Same thing applies on kickoffs/punts, you have to get pushed out of bounds (cant just run out to avoid contact) or its a penalty.

I wish they handled the WR aprt of it like they handle kickoffs. You get pushed out by a DB, you can come back in and make a play. If you willingly go out, its a 5yd flag

 

It happened when we played vs CIN too, Eifert put a foot out of bounds and went back in and caught a touchdown and it got called back because of stepping out before the TD. It's a rule that sucks in instances like Eifert's/Hopkins's but I could see people abusing it otherwise

 

For sure, if I was a WR on a scramble play, Id run 3yds behind the end zone and magically appear 2-3 seconds later on the other side of the goal post. Easy to get lost that way
