Colt McCoy scored a TD when he came in 2 years ago and beat SF and Arizona isn't a defensive team or a team with a good OL (PFF's #15 that season with a highest graded player of 67 and lowest of 46) Idk I just expect more from an offensive coach as a whole I agree with this, I do think this year's examples aren't good examples
One thing I do wanna mention too is how much it seems like almost all OLs are bad these days. @MidDave talked about how undisciplined OLs are in general in today's NFL and I think that's true and it's just harder to construct a good OL than it has been in the past. I do think at a certain point you have to build around being able to play around that and not use it as an execute (but still try to fix it of course let's not kill Jeaux)
Proliferation of the spread offense throughout college and the NFL probably did reduce the talent pool in terms of guys who can explode out of their stance off the snap and sustain blocks with good form without being penalized
They didn't build around it either. Horrible roster management there. They let their very good center and guard walk and replaced them with terrible players
