@Dinkleberg I just got an email that my YMCA is raising the membership fees wtf

 

I couldn’t imagine working overnights, kill me first

 

I only did like 2.5-3 months over the summer before starting college up again. Between unloading trucks and moving boxes onto the floor, plus eating terribly, I probably lost 25 pounds.

It absolutely was this:

 

It's not even the finest school that starts with University of Florida

 

I was 22, single, lived alone, didn't have any pets. only way it was feasible.

 

I worked for a generator company quite a few years back and we had to do a battery swap overnight at a data center and they didn’t want them offline during the day. The worst, I had like 4 Red Bulls and I fucking hate energy drinks and I still wanted to die lol

 

Once a quarter we have overnight code deployments which can be brutal.

 

Now my old ass can barely make it to 11 on the weekends lol

 

the only overnight work i do is posting on chorus.fm

 

Other people: “I wake up at 4 am and run a triathlon and eat 3 raw eggs every day”

Me: “I went to my practice space at 1:30 AM after work last night and watched the sunrise when I came home”

 

must be something with being a musician and working in the service industry because I have a friend that's the exact same way

 

I worked graveyard for 2 1/2 years before Covid hit. 12.5 hour shifts from 5:30 PM to 6 AM. Never again haha

 

I managed the front desk in the girl's dorms during college from 1 AM - 5 AM and 9 PM - 1 AM a few times a week. Basically just loaned out pool cues and ignored the couples making out in the common room lol

 

woof I'm the opposite lol, im a project manager for a construction company so im usually on site at projects from like 7 am to 6 pm or so, sometimes 7 pm if its a longer day. if I didn't get two months off in the winter I definitely wouldn't keep doing it lol.

It seems like every single Lions skill position player is either questionable or out this week lol. I may need to suit up

Yeah, I’m on the opposite schedule. I work 5 AM-5 PM now. It’s still a grind, but at least now I work from home and work for myself. I can’t believe I lasted that long doing graveyard. You’re basically living in a different world and it’s impossible to adjust on your days off.

 

worst thing about working overnight is that your employer and the people in your life never seem to consider that you sleep during the day in between shifts. overtime my brain adapted by sleeping through phone rings now i need to set 3 different alarms at staggered times to wake up on time

 

I work that cushy 9-"5"

 

my lovely wife works while i go to school. we're maybe gonna switch roles once i graduate. I'll likely be in LA and conveniently USC is one of the few schools in California with the degree she wants
