I think you have to have the extreme pessimistic mentality that belichick does after every win to believe your team might not win. It's the only way to think you're unbeatable team isn't unbeatable.

There's also the fact that Pats fans probably want to have an "unquestionable" season

Not that they haven't proven a ton, but there are a ton of people who question them because of Tuck Rule/Spygate/Deflategate/etc and won't accept that they're just a great team

  4. Fuck the tuck rule, seriously. The Patriots had no business winning that game.

Here's where we play the fun "What if" game:

Who wins the Super Bowl if Raiders-Steelers go to the AFC Championship and winner plays the GSOT?

Does Bledsoe get his job back if the Patriots do not reach the AFC Championship? Or does Belichick keep going with Brady?

And finally: Does Lawyer Milloy ever get let go for Rodney Harrison in the offseason if the Pats don't win the Super Bowl?

Yes. Milloy wouldn't take a pay cut and you know what billy b does to those fools

But the big reason why BB got the authority he had in NE is due to 1. his early success and 2. Kraft trying to meddle less. If reason #1 isn't as big as a Super Bowl ring, does Kraft still allow him to keep full control or does he keep having more of a say?

The other two Tuck Rule questions are definitely bigger questions though.

I'd say most of those guys are already out of position of the cutback lane there.

But yeah still shouldn't have gotten to that point.

Next 3 matchups after the bye are Chicago, Oakland, Tennessee.

Gus Bradley is gonna need to win all those, get to a 4-3 record to get back in favor with me for the time being.

And shoot, then it's KC, Houston, Detroit.

The Texans already beat KC who looks like they fell off, the Titans already beat Detroit, and we need to at least win one of our matchups vs the Texans.

I want to see us win two of those too so it's not incredibly demoralizing to lose to Buffalo, Denver, and Minnesota all in a row after that. Go 6-4 then drop to 6-7 but still have a chance to win the South. That is best, best case scenario.

Sorry no sympathy. Peyton Manning beat us like 23 times, Andrew Luck beat us 5 times and Matt Hasselbeck beat us with the flu.

I can tell from how we played Tennessee that you will win a game against us. I don't know which, but you'll win one.

If Perrish Cox can work Deandre Hopkins the way he did, Jalen Ramsey will have a field day.

Their defense has been pretty weak. I would easily take OAK over JAX on a bet, but as a fan I do think we have at least a chance. They have WRs but CB is one of our few position groups I would call "strong" (Rivers attacked Davon House a lot, he rarely sees the field when Amukamara is healthy), and if Beachum is healthy we have a way of keeping Mack from taking over the game. Put Amukamara on Cooper because he has shown he can cover elite route runners, put Ramsey on Crabtree because he can win the physical battle down after down, and even with Bortles struggles I think our receivers would get open more than theirs in a shootout.

I like the way we match up with Oakland. I don't see that as much of an insurmountable challenge as beating an elite defense with a shaky offense. We are definitely not beating the Vikings or Broncos because they will destroy our running game, they will be able to blitz a lot because of it, and Bortles will start to crack with the pressure all on him.

i don't doubt that Jacksonville has a chance. and hell, it could be the funnest game of the week. i expect a shoot out and a 45-41 type score by the end of it. but i have to give the advantage to Del Rio. guy knows how to coach (as you well know) and i think Oakland has just a few too many brighter spots right now than Jacksonville does.

I just need to see Blake Bortles beat Derek Carr because I've studied the first two seasons of both for my sports website and the conclusion I came to is, Carr is definitely better but Bortles has more potential. And so far I haven't seen Bortles fully take that step beyond just being a gunslinger. The effort he's making to play smarter is obvious but he doesn't look comfortable.

I think if our team is "together" enough to compete for a whole four quarters, Bortles could very well out-pass Carr. But it'd have to be a team win. See: coaching and play calling.
