Weird week of football this week for the top teams. Patriots and Chiefs looked bad and both should have lost in big upsets, Rams did lose, Ravens got gashed. Colts and Texans did not look like themselves. We get a few of these every year.
Minshew had no fumbles or interceptions today, and he and Fournette overcame 12 penalties for 105 yards (plus a called-back DJ Chark touchdown for the second week in a row), and still scored 20 unanswered points, on the road, to come back from a two-touchdown deficit. Guys I don't even think I myself realized how badly I secretly want the Jags to have an offense, after 19 years of our offense being trash. I know we're only 2-2 but I am on cloud 9 right now. The fact that it might not even kill us if we lose Ramsey is HUGE. I am starting to believe that Minshew / Fournette / Chark can make us competitive regardless what happens to our defense. Let alone the fact that our pass rush is SET with Ngakoue, Allen, & Campbell.
Minshew does not give a FUCK about "pressure." He is better under higher expectations & better against more challenging situations, than he ever was as a college player or a preseason backup. I told Matt today that Minshew is very good under pressure and that is the number one thing I look for in a quarterback. I trust him wholeheartedly on third down and that is a brand new feeling for me, as a Jags fan. When we went into the half down 6-17, I said I wasn't afraid. When we got the ball down 23-24 after Flacco's last touchdown, I said I wasn't afraid.
Von is 30 and we already have pass rushers. Jalen turns 25 in October and has the talent level of a young Von Miller. Von and a 2nd for Ramsey.
I love how I’m already seeing that Dak’s the number one reason we lost the game. Not our offensive line who was bullied all game, not on Cooper for having multiple penalties, not giving credit to the Saints’ defense for ramping up blitzes at the right times, uncharacteristic fumbles that had nothing to do with Dak, or the fact that we accidentally brought Linehan’s playbook instead of Moore’s. Nope, it’s 100% Dak’s fault, makes sense.
That’s not to anyone here, just in general what I’m seeing online. I swear 90% of people who talk the shit don’t even watch the games.
Yeah, and I don’t think Dak was amazing or had a great game or anything. He played okay but he certainly wasn’t bad or one of the main reasons we lost.
I know how ya feel, Wentz is getting shit for only throwing for 167 yards against the Packers. Everything I've seen last night wasn't on Dak, I feel like Zeke came up small last night though.
Right, even though he threw 3 TD’s, like wtf, haha For some reason some people literally look at yards as their only metric, it makes zero sense.
Eh, two of those teams want to win. I don't think the bungles want to lose either, I think all their losses have been pretty close? The potatoes are sooooo bad, that's the one to worry the most about IMO.
It does make zero sense, I feel like people forget that coaches have game plans. I'll tell you what, the NFC East could start to get interesting.
I was gonna say whichever team still has to play the Redskins twice has the momentum. Didn’t realize each team has already defeated them once though. lol
