It’s needing to convert on 2 plays (both of which are very reasonable asks), versus having to make a FG, succeed on 3-4 defensive downs, and a likely 6-8 play drive minimum it’s just smooth brain stuff
I mean its needing to convert 2 plays (the 4th down and the 2 pt conversion) *and* still get the TD to get a 50/50 shot of winning in OT. Whereas they make the FG and get the stop and score they win. I still think its the wrong call. But I can kinda see what they were going for. But wasn't as bad as going for it on 4th and 1 on your own 24 with under two minutes left in the game while you're up by 4.
the most bizzare thing about the FG is that they accepted the penalty don't do that and they like have another minute and can maybe actually get a drive off but also imagine the shitshow if you get gifted a fresh set of downs in the redzone and go "nope we want the 3 points" really highlights that in both cases, kicking the FG was the wrong move
