Patriots have the most cap space in the league by a mile, a top-2 pick, and seemingly the better young QB. Not sure I’d put the bears above that. Maybe the Jags?

  2. also look at the Bears division - it's arguably the best division in football

This will sound like a stick in the mud take, but I think the Patriots, Jags, and Bears jobs would all be attractive if/when they are available this offseason

I don't look at division for coaching prospects

If you're a good coach you'll elevate the team... Harbaugh and Payton both went to the same division as Reid/Mahomes

I like the bears talent, its an underachieving roster but talented, it's fine to disagree though

Cap space is only good if you use it on the right guys, its such a crapshoot... more about drafting acumen (also a crapshoot, sure).

  6. I've just seen the Bears falter as a franchise for nearly my entire life time so I just think it's inherently a bad place to work haha

Cakeb Williams may be permanently broken

With the Jags, you already know you’ve got a good QB in Lawrence, but he’s gonna be on his fifth-year option next year and his big extension from there so you have less flexibility roster-wise. There’s also the stink of if being the Jags and you might be forced to work with Baalke, but the competition in that division is super soft so there’s a quick path to success there.

With the Patriots, you have a promising, young QB on a rookie contract, which is a big plus, but you have a TON of needs on the roster. They have a lot of cap space so that would allow for a new coach to leave their imprint on the roster early, but a lot of pressure to hit on those players. A high draft pick sure is nice too. The division is dominated by the Bills so they’re a big obstacle for a new coach, but the rest of the division is fairly soft.

With the Bears, you also have a promising, young QB on a rookie contract. The Bears will also have a lot of cap space next year. They’ve got a handful of good/solid players locked in already, but they definitely have some needs. I would maaaaaybe argue that this is the most attractive job, but the division is the toughest of the three mentioned. With Caleb already in the fold, the clock is ticking for immediate success.

I actually think the right GM is most important for the Pats as they build around Maye, and maybe Wolf is that guy but Pats fans could better answer what they think of the job he's done so far.

I know when Caserio took over here he inherited an awful roster, but he started making moves on the margins and slowly but surely built a serviceable roster (with some luck included). I figure the Pats will need to do the same.

speaking of GMs, it's pretty amazing what Paton has done for Denver, getting guys like Riley Moss in the 3rd, Bonitto in the 2nd, etc and hitting on picks like that

it made surviving that Russ contract easier for them

Wolf has had a rough season.

    Pros:
Drake Maye pick and not trading down
    Hunter Henry re-sign
    Antonio Gibson
    Austin Hooper

    Cons:
    Remaining draft class
    The Polk/Ladd trade
    Re-signing Stevenson and Dugger
Not more aggressively addressing the line
