And yeah the defense completely melted down the last few weeks, but that's bound to happen when you put all the pressure on that side of the ball the whole season, and never give them a break from having to be perfect in man coverage all game. We were winning on defense by playing extremely aggressive until the bye but teams figured us out, and the problem with not playing "bend don't break" defense... the only other option, when you get beat, is to "break" lol

Lions defense has been fucking hot steaming garbage the whole year, they haven't played well at all, but they won their division and are gonna finish with the best record they've had in years! you know why, cause the offense kept up

You can still win if your defense gives up 30, and tbh unless your defense is ELITE you should expect to give up 30 a few times a year. But, you're not gonna win putting up 0 points for 3 quarters. So that's why I fixate more on that / that's more damning to me, especially because of the wasted potential of the best QB prospect we've ever drafted. I could live with our defense being ass if Trevor Lawrence was panning out, i absoutely HATE to see him regress because our offense basically ignores half of what he's good at (and the other half is ruined by a bad OL)

But "cooking with an apron" by itself, i felt it was just Dink expanding on the pun on Cooks' name & not even referencing it in a gendered way. I read it as him just being compared to a chef in general
