This stat is genuinely wild; Gillette stadium has never hosted a meaningless game (aside from Pats having the 1 seed already locked up) in its history until tonight
I guess meaningless in that a Patriots win doesn’t make a difference. Every other pats win has meant a division title or bye week or like, 16-0. There’s plenty of good franchises w franchise QBs who’ve played games eliminated from playoff contention, and they hadn’t until tonight
Yeah I guess that’s still in play. And the Steelers are suggesting they’re resting starters this weekend.
Lol he did not say that. All he said was “we played pretty good defense against him last time” wiiicked click baity
I try my best to not be obnoxious but after 20 years I can't help it. This is cathartic. For reference the game below is when I fully moved into the "fuck Brady, Belichick and the Patriots" mindset because the game was over in about 7 minutes and they kept scoring just because they felt like it
I can see a scenario where they don't care about #2 vs #3. Might actually be likely. They called Davis Webb off the practice squad for tonight then made him inactive which makes no sense at all unless maybe he's going to dress next week. I played around with the playoff machine a lot today and I kept getting the Steelers drawing Browns or Ravens so I could see where they don't really play to win either.
