They weren’t winning this game regardless but I have no confidence in Rhule leading this team anywhere once they get some better players. Just awful game management over and over again.
jesus that game was way closer than it should've been. And here I remember thinking going into the 2 minute warning of the first half that the Packers would finally have a fun blowout game. definitely needed to run the ball more. But I guess Rodgers wants that MVP...
Not having Williams probably hurt but it makes no sense to not use Dillon - bizarre play calling by MLF
Bridgewater hasn't proven he's capable of leading a game-winning drive even when they have timeouts to use, so there's no way he was doing it there. Can't wait to hear Rhule talk about how hard they tired and painting that loss up as an accomplishment because they're rebuilding or some shit.
yeah the few runs he had he looked good oh well. win is a win. But not looking forward to seeing what Henry does to the defense next week.
Well, theyre.....not a good football team....so by his logic theyre not doing what theyre supposed to do....
I can understand the line of thinking. But you need so many things to go right for it to work. And sure, the first half went right. But then the second half fell apart and showed why it was such a dumb move.
The second field goal was easier to defend than the first one that only cut the lead to 21-13. Needed two scores and a stop with time left to move down the field. The problem is that this offense has been in the same situation SEVEN FUCKING TIMES this year and they can barely get the ball past midfield. Slye has had three attempts over 60 yards this year because the offense can't run a two minute drill to save their lives. Bridgewater can't even make the easy throws that he hits in the first half in these situations, which is why they should have gotten the TD out of the way first. Yeah, you're left with less time on the clock if you get the ball back, but Bridgewater hasn't shown any ability to lead a game-winning drive all year. It is fucking infuriating watching almost every other team in the league execute these drives while the Panthers just trip over themselves & stay 5-11 forever.
Sorry if this is discussed every week but how does a team with Rodgers at quarterback never play an entire game of football? For as great as he is, why do the Packers go entire halves of games scoring less than 10 points. Even in games they win they play great offense for a quarter or a half and do nothing the rest of the game and I feel like it never gets talked about enough (but then again I don’t read sports media or forums so maybe it is mentioned). happened all the time in the McCarthy era too. Team (and Rodgers) just seems to constantly fall asleep at the wheel. Imagine how many more records Rodgers would have and how many more wins and potential titles Green Bay would have if they didn’t constantly turn to mush for half a game every game.
Honestly I think the bigger mistake was kicking the ball away. Regardless of what you do, if the packers get a first down, its game over If you onside kick and fail they now have to make a hard FG and if they miss that you get a short field. If you kick it away, you have to drive the whole distance of the field.
If the old kickoff rules were still in play I would agree. Success rate is something like 4% this year.
