Crazy to think the Titans would be 10-3 or better if they rolled with Tannehill at the beginning of the season
I’ve created quite the Hell for me today. Unless Kupp goes off tonight like a madman, then I’m depending on Philly defense to be dominant with turnovers and a touchdown against the Giants tomorrow
He's been pretty crazy efficient. ~73% completions, and if he completes a pass, it goes for 12.5yds. Amazing what having a consistent running game will do for an offense; he's down in the Josh Allen/Jacoby Brissett range for actual yards/game, but does what they need in terms of not costing them games. Its really apparent when you realize Chubb and CMC are right there with Henry in rush yards, and yet their teams are way worse off because their QBs turn the ball over far too frequently
Its kind of what Goff does. He was useless the whole month of OCT in 2017, useless in December last year, and now this. Just goes like 4 week stretches where his best performance is like a 72 passer rating
Note: AJ Brown is a big part of the Titans’ passing game resurgence. Would’ve wanted him if Jawaan Taylor was gone. He showed this game what I said about him all draft season - dude is strong as fuck for a WR and very hard to bring down after the catch. He makes easy passes rip off chunk yards because he can break tackles like a RB
To me this tells me he is predictable and struggles to get out of certain “habits” when the opponents start to catch on to him. Imo the hardest part of being a QB is changing your game and changing the routes / throws you lean on based on your opponent. Shit that worked amazing one week could be nothing but trouble against another team that has seen it on film and is prepared for it.
And Goff is nothing special, so despite being surrounded by incredible talent and having a coach who is capable of creating for him, its not like he has what Wilson or Jackson or Mahomes have, where he can just create beyond the scheme if things are going poorly. Like, I suspect you could drop Tannehill into that offense and they'd be the same team. Give McVay a Mahomes and we're watching a bunch of consecutive 16-0 teams.
