Choked when it was time to win though we had several chances and all of them ended with us calling dumb plays
Yeah there were drops and bad penalties along the way but, we responded terribly to that adversity gameplan-wise
I mostly agree but there were still some calls that just completely killed momentum. There were a lot of passes that should have been caught though.
Choked? We had a banged up backup QB, two WRs, a guard at tackle because we only had one tackle left. ETN was shaken up on that drive.
And yet we had the lead at the end for a good while and got multiple opportunities in the red zone. We controlled our own destiny in spite of Trevor going down and then we fuckin wet farted
Yeah this was mostly on the defense letting Jake Browning cook them. 31 points should be enough to win. Especially with the injuries on offense and back up QB
Yeah I don’t think we choked but the defense didn’t do their job and the backups didn’t have a cushion they needed. I wholeheartedly believe Jags would have scored if Trev hadn’t hurt his ankle.
I have not heard or thought of one good reason why we are running out of shotgun, something they stopped many times, with D’Ernest Johnson instead of throwing it outside the numbers to Etienne, something they failed to stop all 4 times we did it, every time we got momentum. CJ Beathard can throw passes to Travis Etienne. The blueprint to win this game was not rocket science. It’s literally, “hey that’s working, let’s do it some more until they change their gameplan and it opens up some other plays”
No one is saying that Press was perfect, but the bigger issue was CJ, Etienne, and half the OL was hurt and that does matter. And the defense let Jake Browning hang 31 on them
I didn’t say not the defense but the offense had higher expectations for one, and for two the defense has carried a subpar offense to victory this season more often than not. They’ve been lights out in 8 of 12 games. Sometimes it’s okay to expect the offense to step up and show they can manage a lead with a backup QB
Also I moved down to seats in front of my aunt and uncle because other STHs they knew left and then I almost got into a fight with a Bears fan lol. Dude was yelling “Trevor on IR!” after he got hurt. Fucking pissed me off and after going back and forth I acted like I was going to knock his hat off and I hit the brim and then he start saying I touched him lol. I shouldn’t have done it but come the fuck on dude. I should have told him I hope the Bears fucking waste their draft picks and decide to keep their coaches and Fields.
Like yeah defense didn’t show up today offense still had a chance to win the game and they didn’t. They’re not in the locker room saying “well the defense”, they’re saying “we ran out of steam at the end when we were leading, can’t let that happen”
You keep going on about Press Taylor when that's just not the problem. We scored 31 points despite losing our starting QB, our back-up QB getting banged up, losing literally all but one tackle on the roster, and losing our WR1. That is objectively AT LEAST not bad.
Yes but you can't ignore the fact that both CJ and e Etienne were hurt on the final drive. Those things effect the play calling. And oress still could've been better. Both can be true.
They are 100% in there saying defense. I absolutely guarantee you they are in there focusing on why our defense gave up 31 points to a 27 year old career practice squad player making his first start. 100% guarantee that.
I’m the one saying both can be true and not absolving Press just cause he coasted to a lead on screen passes lmao, and then didn’t even do the SAME SHIT that was working all game at the end
Yeah Trevor also probably gets us to 35 points, we also win if McManus makes that FG, etc. those things aren't solely on Press. Like it was a lot of things going wrong tonight, blame can't be assigned to one entity and the majority of it is not on Press tonight.
I don’t care about points and yards as much as I care about timing and gameflow and Press has sucked at that in at least 9 games this year feels very much like Nathaniel Hackett coasting on an over performing defense
