I'd be fine with that top-3. Whiten makes a fair point about Steichen.

 

If you want an underdog candidate i might say Mike Tomlin. That team should be 2-10.

 

Mike Tomlin is a solid one too. I feel like he gets the Lebron effect where everyone knows he's great so it's boring to consider him haha

If you miss the playoffs you aren’t getting it right? It’s hard to say Demeco is the front runner when they aren’t in the playoffs yet but if he gets there I agree and he’d be the most deserving. The Texans were supposed to be the farthest away of all the other teams although colts were not far ahead

I'd honestly be okay with a non-playoff coach winning it if they had a strong case.

 

Like them winning some games is good, but his real argument is how good Stroud has looked. That was his #1 job/priority this year is getting that kid in a position to succeed and well, checkbox.

 

if the Texans missed the playoffs i think it would be Dan Campbell but i would have 0 issue with Demeco winning it still.

 

Yeah he deserves it I just think realistically I don’t know how far you’d have to go back to find a coach that won it and missed the playoffs. Now with 7 teams getting in it seems like you could find another team like the colts who’s coach outperformed the roster

 

Went back and checked just for you and it was 1990. Jimmy Johnson's 7-9 Cowboys missed the playoffs but he won nonetheless.

 

I'd say 12-5 since you have to play two teams with winning records.
