Yeah, truly one of the amicable partings...Stafford needed to go elsewhere and win, and the Lions needed the capital to rebuild. In a weird way, getting Goff as scrap parts was a blessing because they didnt need to do what they usually do, which is spend Nathan Peterman level money on their QB and ruin all offensive talent until they flee or retire.

And hopefully this year or next they find the heir for after Goff

It is a little wild that they said, before the season, "he'll play in December"...and I kinda scoffed because that was them maybe hinting they'd be in contention and need him...yet here they are activating him in a lost season to get him some run in their first December game

and I also just wanna see Trevor keep playing like he has the last 3 weeks, I’m excited for the future with that guy. His arm and pocket presence are starting to look grade A now that he’s comfortable in Pederson’s offense, and he’s flashing some next level anticipation on his deeper throws already. He’s dodging pass rush and dropping the ball between two zone coverage defenders within 3 seconds on a regular basis now. Legit looks like he’s gonna be really good.
