That’s a fumble into the end zone

 

That’s what happens when you don’t throw it to Ertz.

 

Worst rule in football strikes again!

 

What a terrible play call.

 

What would you want the result of that type of play to be?

Put the ball at the spot of the fumble, like you'd do if they fumbled it out of bounds anywhere else.

 

But that was even out of the back of the end zone....

And actually don’t they spot the ball wherever the fumble goes out of bounds when it happens elsewhere?

 

That was a really nice strip tho

 

at least they didn't punch it purposefully out of the back of the endzone like they did vs Detroit a few seasons ago lol

 

I don't see why that should matter, especially to the point of making it an auto-turnover.

 

I’m pretty sure they spot it where it goes out of bounds, not the spot of the fumble.

But I could be wrong.

 

I would make the team start the drive allover again

 

1. A fumble that goes forward and out of bounds will return to the fumbling team at the spot of the fumble unless the ball goes out of bounds in the opponent’s end zone. In this case, it is a touchback.

Lol this might be the only time the Seahawks get out penalized.

 

I always think this is the rule when it happens until I see the other team with possession. I think it makes more sense.

I think it should be wherever it goes out of bounds, including a touchback.

It would be weird to benefit, maybe even incentivize, teams fumbling forward out of bounds everywhere on the field except the endzone.

 

Even as a hawks season ticket holder since before I was born (family has had them since they started), Wilson still amazes me almost every time.

 

True. I guess that’s why the discrepancy. Weird.
