You can definitely double team a TE either with 1) a Cover 1 that isn't a robber 2) a Cover 0 but those are far more vulnerable to deep passes to MVS that he might NOT drop

I genuinely couldn’t care less what concept they use as long as 3 unique people hit Travis Kelce on every single play.

I’d be perfectly fine if a defensive coordinator got drunk, called Engage 8 from Madden, and made sure his remaining 3 defenders hit Travis Kelce.

lol we don't have to agree, all I'mma say is one of my favorite things about football is it forces you to incorporate variety and do things you're uncomfortable with or don't do as well on paper. Offensive minds like Reid have an answer for everything and your only true chance of controlling the game is changing it up every time they make adjustments. If teams could win games calling the same defense all game, they would. And the few times they could, they did (early 70s Steelers, 2000 Ravens, 2013 Seahawks) but you gotta be beyond elite to do it.

Randall, it was 121 rushing yards in the first half, not “total,” the “first half.” Just because the Eagles won doesn’t mean they get to wipe their hands clean of a piss poor night in run defense despite being the best in the league in it heading into tonight.

Also, no one cares about Madden dude! This is real life we are talking about, not some dumb video game!

    Okay, variety.

Remember the game where the Patriots murdered @whitenblue88 with basically @JoshIsMediocre starring at RB? Should the Patriots have incorporated more variety? Or should they have just stuck with what was working until the Colts stopped them?

Just because the Chiefs didn’t win the game, I don’t get to criticize the Eagles run defense?

The only reason football requires variety is because teams have the ability to change up how you defend them. The Chiefs as currently constructed do not have that ability. Take away Kelce and you win. 99% of the time.

Like, how many years have Mahomes and Kelce dominated the NFL and we’re still doing “it’s just really hard to defend”

that made some sense when they had Tyreek Hill. They don’t anymore.

Mahomes had 177 yards though! Is it not okay to prioritize stopping him over stopping Pacheco?

Like, I’m sorry the expectations for the Eagles are higher than, say, the Jags? They spent two first round picks and then some two years in a row on Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. They’ve played well this season. They didn’t really show up tonight. I’m allowed to be critical of that because I have higher expectations for them and the team as a whole.

I’d kill to hold Mahomes to 177 yards next time we play

would absolutely murder for that. If there’s a formula to beating the Chiefs. That right there is it

  23. Dinkleberg

    go birds Supporter

Yeah the formula for beating the Chiefs is Mahomes’ receiving corps to drop multiple passes. That’s already been established

I would consider triple teaming Taylor Swift’s BF with a lot of emphasis on hitting him within 5 yards.
