Campbell (or similarly, a team's best big corner) jams him at the line in press-man, Rayshawn Jenkins (or whatever the team's best attacking safety is) in robber zone comes and puts pressure on him, and Andre Cisco (the team's best rangy safety) stays back just far enough for MVS go routes but in the back of his mind is "keep an eye on Kelce and make that damn tackle if he beats that natural double team"

the first sentence of that is the important part. Who cares if the Chiefs "gashed them" (121 yards total rushing for a team? hardly "gashed") in a loss. The most TOTAL TEAM rushing yards they've allowed in the 10 weeks prior is 107!

Giving up 121, 107, and then a bunch of sub-100 rushing yard games to whole teams, not just individual runningbacks, sounds like a top run defense to me

Well, I just think you have to do it in a way that his most effective routes naturally have to go through 3 people, rather than explicitly triple teaming him with them all playing man coverage.

Cause the latter is just taking guys away from the rest of the field and aggressively choosing NOT to cover other things, and then that's how you give up 100 yards in checkdowns to Pacheco, 52 rushing yards and a rush TD to Mahomes, and end up being the team to give Rashee Rice 100 yards also lol because Reid and Mahomes are good

If Pacheco actually went off and they won the game with ball control then criticize that decision, but you got the W so it worked. All I know is, when I play Matt in Madden, he can get as many damn rushing yards as he wants cause I still know stopping his 60 yard wheel route passes is the key to limiting his scoring enough to win lol
