I love Patrick Mahomes but last I checked *we* still have a chance to be the 1 or 2 seed team that gets a bye and then gets to play Denver or the team that limped in with a hurt QB or whatever lol

I've been trained to root against the Chiefs now because of seeding implications, even in a season where Bengal is ded and there's no chance of the playoffs. I don't make the rules

I would root for the Chiefs if the Jags were 2-6 like last year and had no chance of competing for the top of the AFC

but until we get swept by Houston and lose the division (goddammit I’m already angry about it before it even happens), I gotta root for my dawgs Mahomes and Lamar to lose a couple more times

I'm insanely more confident in the Eagles ability to win on the road or secure the #1 seed without a win tonight, then I am in the ability of the Jags or Dolphins to win in Arrowhead. So it's kinda a no-brainer for me.

 

im ok with Birdsing tonight but regardless of the outcome i need Mahomes to absolutely go off, so if that means birds lose, they lose

It's polar opposites for me

if the Chiefs lose tonight and the Jags beat Houston Sunday, they are absolutely a candidate for #1 seed cause they play Baltimore, who they already beat in a very tense matchup last season, at home. Baltimore is elite but they are capable of losing games for dumb ass reasons, all 3 of their losses were easily avoidable but they lost anyway. The only other "tough" matchup left WAS Cincinnati, but now they don't have Joe Burrow.

if the Jags lose to Houston on Sunday, though, then I am suddenly afraid of us fumbling away the division and losing our confidence and potentially even missing the playoffs lol. That Houston game is gonna say a LOT. If we can put away CJ Stroud and establish a two game lead over the division + a 4-1 divisional record and only 2 AFC losses, then I feel 1000% more confident in our playoff positioning and momentum.

 

I love week 12, shit starts getting serious now
