The problem is that's such a weird way for that play to end, so no one is used to it. In literally every other instance of an offensive player running around with the ball, he's not down until he's touched, and any other player that goes down untouched, you're running at him full speed trying to smack him. Super rare for him to randomly give himself up and take a knee mid play like that. So hard to pull up and stop at that point. And Graham tried! He literally slid on his knees into him. Fuck.

 

This is why I don't bet on games.

 

I love how Heinicke gets down on a knee, then flinches as if he’s going to get back up, then takes the hit and celebrates afterward

I didn’t think the Eagles would go undefeated, but this is such a fucking embarrassing way for it to end

 

I just think that one was a weak technicality and I don’t want games decided by weak technicalities, that didnt endanger the player or mess with the fair chance to execute the play

 

Okay the rule is absolutely obviously purely atrocious, but it’s been the rule for like 2 seasons. You need to find any single way to not touch the QB in that situation
