Seeing that throw to BTJ and wondering why the hell they got away from it. I didn’t watch the game but it felt like they moved away from the passing game and moved to a run first conservative scheme for the 2nd half when up 10 and you just CANT let up like that. Especially against a team like Miami.
I'm not saying the sacks aren't his fault either. But if you just watch the game, the offense looks so much worse when they are not letting him get in a rhythm and throw on early downs.
Travis Etienne does not look like a workhorse back that you can just grind out the clock with late in a game like the Jags seemingly tried to do yesterday
Exactly. They do not have the personnel to play like this and they keep trying to do it anyway! The were one of the worst rushing teams last year efficiency wise and guess what, 4/5 of the OL is the same.
Also a 10 point lead is NOTHING when you’re against a Tyreek Hill led team who can (and did) change the game in 1 play. Don't ease up and try to grind, just keep slinging. Drives me crazy watching these teams continue to get conservative, let up, and blow games at the end
Yup speed wins late if you let it, defenders get tired and those opportunities open up a ton for teams like the Dolphins
The amount of times we see coaches turtle up because they have a small two-score lead in the third or fourth quarter and then the opposing team scores a touchdown and it’s suddenly a field goal difference is stunning Put the stomp down on em and put at least two touchdowns of difference before you decide to turtle up late in the game
Unless you’re the Eagles and can just drain eight minutes off the clock because your offensive line is so dominant in the running game and your QB finally decides to make a positive run
I'm not saying it is staged, because I don't believe that shit at all obviously haha. It's embarrassing that I'd have to put that qualifier because it's a ridiculous idea. But it almost FEELS staged just to give those nailbiter moments, because it feels so obvious that you shouldn't let up and be so risk-averse with professional athletes with diverse skill sets. Champions have statement wins, go get statement wins and don't settle for nailbiter wins or moral victories.
Okay I'm legit starting to feel bad for Panthers fans, they are entering an era like the Texans had and possibly (likely) blew a #1 pick on a QB on top of it Hugest of yikes
I started feeling bad for Panthers fans once I watched CJ Stroud and Bryce Young play football last year Can’t forget about Anthony Richardson too
If the Panthers traded up for a #1 pick, ended up in last place after, and end up in last place again this year (obviously they might not but if they do) I'll treat the franchise exactly how I treated the Jaguars when they drafted Lawrence #1 and ended up with #1 right after
Also, I think the one difference though that's even more concenring is when Cal took over the team he was kindve a bumbling idiot that it took him some time to figure out how to effectively own the team and not hire individuals that undermined it... Carolina is saddled with what seems like an arrogant asshole though that's set in his ways. oof
