No way I’m watching any clip of Kirk Cousins looking like dogshit after red zone force fed me that dogshit game seemingly more than any other from that slate yesterday
I’m honestly more mad at the lack of execution than the play calling. Play calling wasn’t great but we still should’ve won in spite of it. The Etienne fumble sticks in my mind but so does Trevor getting pathetically sacked twice in a row when we had one more chance to take the lead. That just wasn’t up to Trevor’s standards at all in my opinion. Those were situations he at least could’ve ran and picked up some yards. Usually his pocket presence is a lot better than that. I’d give him some credit if the blocking was horrible and he had less than 2 seconds but that wasn’t the case. He panicked when the main read of the play was covered.
Also the Kirk drops. The fuck were those. Both drops were on third down and while the coverage was there it wasn’t that physical, no one stopped him from getting hands on the ball both times. I really don’t care if he’s “not that kind of receiver” we’re paying him enough to make those catches. You can’t be the highest paid weapon on the team but then get excuses made for you when you drop slightly difficult passes. In my opinion every NFL receiver who is leading their receiving room should 100% be able to extend for the ball when the QB needs to throw at an angle to throw you open. very pathetic drops that ended two drives, he gets 0 excuses. I’m going to continue to be critical of him lacking that skill cause he’s getting paid way too much for that to be an excuse.
Redzone is my favorite television show (when we switched to YTTV my dealbreaker was to make sure I could get redzone lol)
If you’re “not that kind of receiver” where you’re expected to make adjustments when the ball can’t be thrown into your chest, then you shouldn’t be making over $20 million dollars
Imagine being in the film room breaking down that play and the embarrassment in the room to not only see him throw that pick, but also be the only player to quit on the play because he’s in such a state of shock while the rest of the offense is running towards the defender to prevent the touchdown Dude was literally raptured in that moment and I can’t stop thinking about it lmao
I don't know how you expect the QB/offense to be in any sort of rhythm after running 7-8 runs in a row across 3 drives and then expect him to save the day on obvious passing situations where the defense is going to know it's coming because their backs are against the wall. We have seen time and time again that Trevor is at his best when they let him sling it and then he gets into slumps if they get away from that and try to run the ball over and over again when it's not working. This coaching staff isn't learning anything from their mistakes and they keep doing the same shit.
