Like even the fake spike.. once you fake that spike you kinda gotta commit. It still forces you to make a decision
Lol okay I’m going to bed. Wake me on Sunday when Lawrence throws an incomplete and it shatters the integrity of sports haha
what I’m saying is there’s other rules in place for things like this. As in, scrambling out of the pocket first, which forces the QB to take the play a little seriously… since often you can’t just immediately roll out, you’ll hit the DE
That’s literally not for things like this though, as stated repeatedly it is for an entirely different purpose and scenario
I regret saying anything about how we shouldn’t talk about the no-call OPI. I had no idea this was the alternative discussion
Look we can argue in circles all night but I think throwing the ball away from the pocket in 2 seconds is stupid lol, either call a clock management play or call a real play, this feels more like taking advantage of a leaky rule than the rule intentionally making space for QBs to do that. You guys are right that other QBs do it but I really feel like only Brady can get away with being super obvious about it 3 plays in a row
Like at a certain point if him being allowed to do that is up to interpretation then so is being “under pressure”
Lol literally any QB that has played in the forward pass era can do it precisely 4 times in a row if they’d like
Omg I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be an asshole but I can’t believe this conversation literally included you saying “I guess I just know the rule better”
because he was quoting a section of it that included a discretionary detail i was being specific about
Lol no one is even arguing that. But you keep saying Brady is getting away with violating a version of the rule you just made up and implemented universally lol
The argument isn't "this rule is fine", it's what you are talking about is not relevant to the rule at all and you keep saying "getting away with" shows you don't understand what the rule is and what it is for.
