I think having the CHOICE of “pass to a guy if he’s open or throw it away” is what makes it intentional grounding and goes against the rule of having to at least make an effort to extend the play. If you’re gonna throw a play away within 2-3 seconds to save clock and not even maneuver out of the pocket then I think that should either be grounding or the receivers should be called for illegal man downfield. There’s a reason why spike formation is its own thing

Maybe intentional grounding as a concept could be revisited though and expanded. Idk if I would. But it could

 

I once saw Dak throw a pick that was flagged as intentional grounding and learned a lot that day haha

 

Yeah I’m just suggesting that they need to revisit that because it’s direct grey area. Like if that’s allowed then why is spike formation even a thing? The whole point is to signal that it’s not gonna be a good-faith pass play… so the other team isn’t in a “damned if I do, damned if I don’t” situation where Brady can just make plays take less than 3 seconds in field goal range easily with no risk.

 

You do understand whatever rule changes you put in place, Brady is still leaving with a win right? It’s pointless to fight it

As someone who’s team was banished to the shadow realm and is currently cheering for something named Mccorkle, I’m not necessarily happy that Brady and Gronk are on a never ending fuck you Bill tour, I just understand fighting it is like expecting paper straws to stop global warming haha
