I’ve watched that play so many times and that’s a damn fumble lol. It’s a ghost rule that I don’t even think gets enforced
Yeah I’d be more upset if it was against a team that was not the Cowboys but as it stands fuck the cowboys
Also, throwing the ball away from the pocket is different than spiking the ball in that you don’t have to commit to spiking the ball, I think having the CHOICE of “pass to a guy if he’s open or throw it away” is what makes it intentional grounding and goes against the rule of having to at least make an effort to extend the play. If you’re gonna throw a play away within 2-3 seconds to save clock and not even maneuver out of the pocket then I think that should either be grounding or the receivers should be called for illegal man downfield. There’s a reason why spike formation is its own thing
Maybe intentional grounding as a concept could be revisited though and expanded. Idk if I would. But it could
I once saw Dak throw a pick that was flagged as intentional grounding and learned a lot that day haha
Yeah I’m just suggesting that they need to revisit that because it’s direct grey area. Like if that’s allowed then why is spike formation even a thing? The whole point is to signal that it’s not gonna be a good-faith pass play… so the other team isn’t in a “damned if I do, damned if I don’t” situation where Brady can just make plays take less than 3 seconds in field goal range easily with no risk.
You do understand whatever rule changes you put in place, Brady is still leaving with a win right? It’s pointless to fight it
Rule Change: In the final two minutes, Tom. Brady must kick the ball to his receivers. Final Score: Brady 31 Opponents: 28
Cuz it’s easier to do quickly If prime Polamalu is on the field that ball might not leave Brady’s arm in time. He’d wanna spike it
That’s what bothers me MORE though. He’s gonna win in pressure situations 8 times out of 10 anyway, why these refs always helping him. He’s still the GOAT without a single one of his laundry list of controversial calls in the late 4th quarter of important games
Like oh well if the Jags beat you in 2017 cause they got the Myles Jack call right… you’d still have six other superbowls lol
I don’t really get what you want him to do though, walk up to the red and take the flag out and Chuck it at Godwin’s face? Lol
As someone who really wanted Dallas to pull off the win but also really hates Jourdan Lewis it’s a hard moment for me to parse tbh It’s frustrating though for sure. Is what it is though
Neverrrr but I will accept people laughing at me for it at this point hahah. That’s fair game now it’s been 4 years and we have basically 2 of those players (Linder and Jack)
As someone who’s team was banished to the shadow realm and is currently cheering for something named Mccorkle, I’m not necessarily happy that Brady and Gronk are on a never ending fuck you Bill tour, I just understand fighting it is like expecting paper straws to stop global warming haha
