was so close to drafting watkins in two of my leagues, glad i didn't. really sucks for him and bills fans if true.
Reading through the posts near the end of the GB/Jax game is hilarious. So many hot takes CHILL OUT PACKERS NATION! We played the first game of the season on the road (in 110-degree field level heat) versus a team that looks like they'll be very good this year. Got out of town with a W, now they're going to head back to 1265 Lombardi Ave, figure out what needs to be cleaned up, and get ready for Minnesota next Sunday night.
Step 1 - Exist Step 2 - Go 2-0 Minnesota is a shit show. Literally all you have to do to beat them is not make idiotic mistakes. Rodgers is pretty good at that.
It'll be tough to go into Minnesota this week. First home game in the new stadium and it's against their biggest rival. Winning in Minnesota is never easy for GB and this week will be no exception -- regardless of who the Vikings send out at QB. Run defense will obviously be the big key. Daniels and Guion need to have as big of a game as they did last week. Guessing we will see lots of the "Big Nickel" package again this week, with Burnett dropping down into the box and HHCD and Hyde playing over-the-top. That was the change that shut down Jax.
also want to reiterate that Joe Thomas played lights out for the Packers (I saw #48 blow up multiple plays and make key tackles) as did their secondary. Watching the film I don't think the Jaguars were deficient in any category except run blocking. They got run blitzed and didn't know how to handle it. Beachum has so far been exactly as advertised, Luke Joeckel actually wasn't that bad at left guard, and Linder did a good job from Center, I was more concerned with Jermey Parnell and AJ Cann's ability to get out in front of a fast pursuing defense. Clay Matthews kept timing the snap count perfectly and beating our pull blocks and I kinda dont think that gap-blocking schemes are the right answer for us against a stacked box until we can get that corrected. but overall, really the story of the game was definitely that the Jags are good now, but the Packers are better. Having those wins, that experience, that pedigree, that confidence, makes all the difference in how you handle high pressure situations and must-score situations.
His ball placement was stellar all day. Had Matthews in the endzone that he threw about 2-3 inches too high but if that was DGB, it was a TD but as a whole, very impressed.
Besides the obvious dumbness of this call, shouldn't Henry be the guy blocking other dudes while Murray runs to the outside? Idk malarkey
