If you miss, Lions have a very good shot at getting into FG range and even if you get a quick stop, you probably don't have the time to drive all the way down the field.

Punt like you did, and the Lions have a much harder time of getting into FG range. Plus, if you get a quick stop you can force a punt and probably have time to run a play or two to get into FG range yourself. Or you can force a turnover (like they almost did) and be right in FG range.

Coaches should play to make the playoffs and win the super bowl. Sometimes that means going for a draw.
