I'll disagree on the first part, Id consider them very equal. Gurley is younger, has fewer touches on his body, and hasnt missed either the season opener or playoffs in basically every year. Regardless, the backup RB just went 27/130/2TD....Bell just saved this team $15mil/yr of cap space by holding out in my mind
I'll say this a thousand times but bell deserves everything he can get but it shouldn't be from the steelers
Ive said all along that $15mil for a RB is crazy. He wont sign for less. Too much money in our other offensive positions...we pay our OL to make it so any RB can be good. So, while Bell is no doubt a top 5 RB, he actually is potentially expendable in our system
game thoughts - 1. Losing Henderson to a broke ankle sucks, put the OL play overall wasn't terrible 2. Kevin Johnson sucked terribly, unfortunate that he sustained another concussion 3. Deshaun looked rusty and like he hadn't played in a real game in awhile, was holding the ball too long, should be much better next week against Vrabel's defense 4. Watt was starting to make plays in the 2nd half, also looked rusty early on 5. Bill O'Brien is still an albatross at clock management and general in-game management, he is the biggest factor holding this team back... he has not improved in his play calling or game management.. Tony Romo was pretty much channeling what fans have been feeling for many seasons now. O'Brien should be grilled by the media harder and harder because he just does the same shit over and over. How did he get an extension? He coaches timidly and doesn't play the percentages, its incredibly frustrating. 6. Titans suck 7. Texans win the division, heard it here, don't quote
Mariota hurt his hand and had to miss that last 3rd down play lets see if he comes back in next series
If this was Ben's last year then fine pay him because you have a cheap qb for a few years. But the Steelers need a lot of help elsewhere that I'd rather spend money on
