They don't put the champs on the road for opening night. Also as a Pats fan I want that game to be late enough in the season that either we're good and it's an exciting matchup or we're terrible and it's a homecoming party. Bucs will smoke the Pats if it's early in the season and while that will make plenty of people happy, it's boring if it's before NE even has a chance to round into form.
