Part of me wanted to bet on Washington beating Buffalo in the superbowl lmao, glad I came to my senses and realized that’s just what my heart wanted and is not the reality of how this legacy sport works

would’ve only bet $20 but eh I’m glad I can spend that on a meal down here in NOLA instead lol

The fact some one in here would take Goff over Hurts is insane. Goff shit the bed against a team that Hurts just shit on.

To be fair no one *should* base their opinions on one game

Nah I don’t care, he cost them the game and Hurts played a better game against the same team. Oh Justin Herbert is another one in here I saw mentioned. The dude just threw 4 picks against Houston and had total collapse against the Jags. It’s just silly.

Not mention regardless of the injuries on defense Detroit still should’ve beat Washington and Goff couldn’t get it done

Hurts is alright. Sometimes you get a good version of him like yesterday, which he deserves his flowers for. That was easily his best game of the season. Other times, you wonder if he’s gonna throw for over 100 yards in a game.

There are better QBs in the league and there are worse ones. Good thing Howie is a cap wizard and can put an awesome team around Hurts to win with him and not because of him.

I’m just old school that rather take the qb that wins.

yes what are we doing here

Allen has 800ish more passing yards, but Hurts missed a couple and Josh barely played in the season finale; I think those sack % numbers are the real standout difference not to mention Josh only has 1 more int on 120 more attempts

hurts has 100 more rushing yards on 48 more attempts; if Allen had 48 more rushes at his YPC (5.2) he’d have 150 more rushing yards than Jalen

Not to mention Hurts only has a 2 TD lead (again, 48 more attempts) and 9 fumbles vs 5 for Josh

the numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster for Jalen Hurts at QB Rankings

Helps to have a top 3 mvp candidate at RB

He didn’t have that in the SB the last time. I could also argue that Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson deserve the same criticism because they haven’t got over the hump in the playoffs. Shit like that sticks out to me.

Yeah and I’ll always bring up the fact that Hurts played the game of his life in the Super Bowl. It was nuts. I just think when comparing QBs you gotta look at consistency (not just one game) and Hurts really lacks that. He’s got weapons, he’s got the OL, and there were plenty of games he didn’t break 200 passing yards.

And again I see where you are coming from but guys like Allen and Jackson should be held to the same standard because they haven’t gotten over the hump in the playoffs for how good they are

Aren’t they though? There’s so much talk about Playoff Lamar and the entire media narrative going into Buffalo vs KC was “can Josh Allen FINALLY beat KC?”

All this talk about QB winz as if Hurts’ 2022 playoff run didn’t include just dunking on the Giants in a blowout win and pantsing the Niners who were onto their fourth QB of the season

I’m sure if Lamar and Allen were in the NFC, they’d each have a super bowl appearance by now!

I don’t remember the 2020 game but 13 seconds and the 2023 divisional loss were not really on Allen - Diggs dropped an incredible 70 yard pass last year with a chance to win

“He just wins” doesn’t excuses his inconsistencies and flaws. It’s a team sport. He wins because he has the best roster in the league around him. That definitely goes a long way

do you think that lamar jackson doesn’t get criticized over his playoff performance?

i tend to see both sides of the Hurts stuff. i do think the last two years have been weird for him where he went from the consensus best QB in the conference to now people thinking he’s the 15th best QB in the league or something lol. i think he’s probably in the 8-11 range, which is good!! i think the issue with comparing to the other good scrambling types, especially lamar and josh, is that lamar and josh can still be absolutely incredible passers in the pocket. i was joking about the full back thing kind of but Hurts, as a QB, just isn’t in that same space as a passer to the point of his own receivers bitching about it like dummies.

This also rings true for Hurts' passing YPG though lol
