I think they’d be better off trading him like the Chiefs traded Alex Smith. Give Lance the full offseason as the starter. He’s gonna need it. They went into this last season with packages in mind for Lance to come in, but Shanahan scrapped them because he felt it was negatively affecting the flow of the offense to take out Jimmy, put in Lance, then put Jimmy back in.

There will absolutely be a demand for Jimmy. People can say all they want that he should be a backup, but the reality is that he very likely is a top 32 QB in this league. Of all the teams that currently have enough space for his contract, I think Pittsburgh makes a lot of sense. Washington and Denver do too, but I could easily see Washington taking a rookie and Denver will absolutely call about Rodgers.

It's mostly because a lot of the good teams in the first half of the merger played in cold weather cities & they had a lot of games at non-NFL stadiums on top of that (Rose Bowl, Stanford Stadium, etc.). They also played a lot in New Orleans while the Saints were still getting off the ground in the 70's & 80's. Miami was the most likely to get a home Super Bowl then but the stars never aligned.

I love this SB matchup. Will be happy with either. Burrow reminds me a ton of Stafford. I am terrified for Burrow to have Donald coming at him with that terrible line.

    Fuck the Rams go Bengals

it’s such a bad matchup for the Bengals as a team. The Rams have a strength everywhere the Bengals have a weakness it seems like. But the NFL is the NFL and if the momentum swings just right, their offense could always just suddenly decide to go on a tear and be unstoppable. Any defense becomes vulnerable once you put together a few good drives / big plays and they start questioning their gameplan.

personally I think Jalen Ramsey can absolutely erase Tee Higgins - aside from Hopkins, pretty much no big receiver ever can win that dogfight - they aren’t sudden enough to get away from him, he can jump and track the ball with them, and they have too much surface area for him to disrupt them with his hands. And they better not get too comfortable throwing screens to Mixon like they did this game; its a common solution to your offensive line losing in the trenches, but Ramsey will blow that shit up and make it just as bad as a sack.

But if there’s anything he struggles with it’s them smaller slippery speedy receivers. Tyreek Hill and TY Hilton gave him problems over the years. Especially when they cross the field on angle routes and corner posts. Essentially if a WR has a fast enough first step and a compact enough body they can dodge his jabs and get inside before he can box the route out towards the sideline. Ramsey is fast but he can’t quite run down Chase from behind.

Ramsey is also overconfident and is probably dreaming about taking Burrow, a second year QB, down a notch, especially once the pass rush gets in a rhythm. He is a team player, but he also believes in his ability to the point he WILL take calculated risks (but risks nonetheless), to get a Super Bowl interception and establish some all-time glory. So he might also get cocky trying to get the jump on a throw, and let Chase behind him on a double move. Burrow has the poise, and the ability to make intelligent & clear headed decisions when games get tight. To look off Ramsey and throw a nice clean arc to Chase when that happens.

If I was the Bengals my strategy would be to feed Ramsey his own medicine by baiting HIM. Literally force him to keep chasing Chase and crossing the field - send him on drags, digs, the occasional post corner or circle route to the sideline for good measure to make it less predictable. Catch them calling zone, but then move Chase to his side via motion to intentionally keep him fired up. And then, when it’s the third quarter and the stadium is loud cause Burrow just got sacked and you’re down by 4… call a slant-n-go and just watch Ramsey jump all over the fake slant. That’s the big momentum shift play & it’s gotta have dummy routes to attract the safeties to the other side of the field.

That’s still hopeful analysis though unfortunately. You guys are probably right, Miller and Donald will overwhelm that offensive line before the Bengals get in rhythm; Kupp and OBJ will destroy the Bengals CBs; and it’ll be all on Joe to prove he’s good enough in year 2 to still throw 3-4 touchdowns and have 1 or 0 turnovers against that front. Ramsey probably will get that SuperBowl interception because Burrow got harassed all night and finally threw a too-risky pass.

I just hate the Rams lol
