Supporting the team really brought NOLA together after Katrina. It was kind of a symbol for the city being rejuvenated because the Superdome is where they housed everyone who lost their homes.

Plus all the volunteer work and fund raising Brees and other Saints players did in response.

Since that happened I would assert that no major city has had stronger support for their team
