Found a rent regulated place in Astoria, about the same price I was paying in Williamsburg but much bigger and won't have to worry about increases at least. Pretty happy overall although I'll miss that neighborhood
I have a friend in Brooklyn who is looking for a bedroom, she is from Colombia and is having trouble finding a place to move for reasons (she has no visa) . The place she is in right now has mold and she is the sweetest soul so I'm trying to use any avenue I have to try to find somewhere for her. Long shot here but couldn't hurt. If anyone has any leads lemme know!
If anyone wants a ticket to oso oso and Spanish love songs at Warsaw for later tonight let me know I have a ticket I can't use. Will send for free
Looking to move in March / April, depending on a few things. Aside from Street easy or craigslist, any one got resources on finding places? Looking for a studio.
Yeah got a spot right between 30th and Broadway, but far enough off the main road that its quiet. Quick ride into the city but have everything I need in like a five minute walk. Super happy it all worked out as quickly and easily as it did.
Ah that’s where I used to live! 2 blocks down from the Broadway stop. I’ve lived in NYC my whole life, across 9 neighborhoods, and that spot in Astoria was probably my favorite.
Have a date planned with a a girl who lives in Astoria and one reason I hope it works out is I’d love a reason to regularly go there haha
My partner was a teacher at the Montessori school at 30th & 30th, I loved meeting her after work for shows & dinner & such. If you all haven't watched Broad City, one of the main characters lived in Astoria,& I still think it's the best modern media representation of what it's like to actually live in the city as a struggling young adult.
Since the N train is above ground I was enjoying the skyline going into the city last night and I looked down and saw a cybertruck and my moment of serenity was instantly destroyed
Been in Astoria about a year and a half. Some recs Ovelia for Greek food and good brunch. KAL is a cute small Korean spot. I think Bellucci's pizza is the best near me. Bagels I normally get from between the Bagel and they also have good Korean food randomly. Via Trenta and VITE Vinosteria my go to date spots and good Italian food. Honestly haven't found a sports bar I love in the area but there is one a little walk called dillingers Pub that has really good people working it. Halsey's for trivia Thursdays and also they do karaoke Friday.
No love for Agnonti in Astoria?!? Not only is it delicious but for a date it’s right next to the park for a nice post dinner walk
Hey does anyone know any cheaper vets? My cat chester needs teeth extracted and this place quoted me 3K. 6 years ago for some teeth I paid 500 on long Island it seems insane. He's definitely being bothered by it and I'm super anxious. I paid this place 400 for blood work already and they said he's healthy for surgery. I can't really swing what they're asking right now so really need to find somewhere affordable
Also I've lived here a month and finally got to a place where my bodega guy already knows what I need without asking and I value that relationship more than my own parents.
Going to Brooklyn Paramount tonight for Mark Hoppus. Anyone got any quick and easy dinner spots nearby they love?
Haven't been yet but from what I can gather it's by the food hall that's right by whole foods or by the Fulton g train stop there's some places
Yeah the dekalb market hall has a bunch of stalls, but pricy for what it is. That area has a lot of the usual chains. I usually just hit up the Xi’an on Willoughby.
