I hope this is old and they're not seriously recording Bury Your Head another fucking time.

It seems like that is the case around the rumor mill...

I love Saosin (esp Cove era) - but.... why? This is gonna be like the fourth recording of this song.

We want a new album, not some recycled stuff from 2006 and before.

Am I the only one that is confused by this whole Cove returning thing? Dude ended his time in that band as a truly awful singer and lyricist.

and I tbink Saosin has rode the wave of us thinking they’ll be able to top or match that EP and self-titled long enough.

I'm 100% ready for the self-title re-recording. I'll finally be able to get this album on vinyl without spending hundreds of dollars on the original. Plus, the self-titled has all of their best songs (sleepers, voices, finding home, follow and feel, collapse, you're not alone)

Beau has said they're re-recording partially because he was really unhappy with the original's production. I agree this doesn't seem like the most exciting use of all the time and work required, but it could be pretty cool.

Only thing that would upset me is if it turned out them prioritizing this was a factor in AG peacing out for the new record, but my guess is that would've happened regardless.

I heard from a source pretty close to them that they're also re-recording the album to have full rights (think of it as a taylor's version of self-titled). Capitol is just sitting there doing nothing with the self-titled when the band could be repressing the vinyl if they had the rights to the original.

I loved the production of the original self-titled though. It's the most clean sound of any band in that scene for that time period. I'm guessing this one will sound a bit more raw.

Idk - Beau's recordings are pretty crisp and polished. I imagine the fidelity will be very modern sounding.

I agree, it was the first time I had heard that style recorded that well. I definitely tried to rip off its sound in every high school band I had.

I'm really pumped they're including more of Beau's vocals on this re-recording. Beau's Sao-version of Circa's "Imposter Syndrome" is really awesome.

They also are now including Phil Sgrosso in press photos - I wonder if he might write anything for Saosin LP4. I'm imagining Beau probably would write and track all guitars but might be interesting to have some new input form him.

I've been baffled by the adoration for Cove ever since I heard him try to sing Changing live.

He’s had a resurgence with Scary Kids Scaring Kids and his own band, Dead American. I think it’s softened the feelings about how things ended.

I’m on board with this re-recording because it’ll feel a bit new and good for them for getting their music back in their hands, but I doubt it’ll really bring back those feelings from the old days. Good nostalgia hit at least though.

  17. Tbh excited for anything Cove + Saosin related. ST is one of my favorite records of all time. I really love the way Cove sounds, and his recent work with Dead American has been great.

Yeah, I love the albums, but I saw them once when they were touring their self-titled and the amount of reverb Cove had to use was off the charts.

If you watch any live videos of Saosin last year you can tell Cove has improved.

The original? I hope that's true. I've been searching for the original vinyl for years but have never seen it under $200.
