Great episodes. Without a doubt the best season this show has ever done. Really interested to see how the show handles Nick and Reagan next season, as well as Jess. They did a good job with this finale at making me feel invested in their inevitable relationship again.
Jess calling Winston a bird shirted puzzle baby had me dying. This season was really great, can't wait to see what they do next.
What a season. Had my doubts going in and it's the strongest yet. And made me feel all sorts of feels by the end. Winston
I was so upset about Schmidt not being at his own wedding but then the apartment wedding happened and was the most I've ever cried at a New Girl episode???? Really wonderful. Also I wasn't crazy about Reagan in this. Coach appearing in the Pre-Wedding was perfect.
What the fuck. I thought the season ended but apparently I just forgot to keep watching? Lol. So fun present for me, I got like, 15 episodes to watch soon!
I had never seen this show before because I'm not a Zooey fan all that much, but I marathon'ed it over the past month or so. Schmidt is God tier hysterical, and Nick and Winston are also pretty dang funny.
Also, I can't believe y'all like Megan Fox in this. I like the idea of the character, but her acting is miserable.
I'm a huge Zooey Deschanel fan but would agree that she's been the weakest character on New Girl recently. She still has some great moments. Megan Fox was great imo¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So you only watched the first seven? You have some fantastic episodes ahead of you then. I wish I could relive watching Cece's bachelorette party for the first time because it's legitimately one of the best episodes they've ever done. High Jess and Cece all day.
You're in for a treat! It was a great season. The finale was also a favorite. Emotionally satisfying. I feel like piggybacking off the end of season four by continuing to film immediately after that season ended and also dealing with Zooey's pregnancy was a boon to the show as a whole. Season four was a nice return to form and continuing on right into season five helped them maintain that consistency. Zooey's pregnancy pushed them back to a midseason premiere, which took holiday episodes away, but also took away long scheduling breaks and made them focus on a narrative arc for the season. Schmidt and Cece's wedding season didn't need the holidays because it was the holiday. It was such a strong season that brought the characters together and gave them all a purpose as they worked toward a goal. I loved it!
I am a big fan of the show (especially Winston). But one thing I feel that's really suffered is how quickly they rotate love interests in and out of the show. They've done a much better job recently which gives me hope for next season.
I hope that if Nasim Pedrad's new series Chad gets picked up she won't disappear from New Girl. I really like her relationship with Winston and it's nice to have a new female character stick around and interact with Jess and Cece like she did in the amazing bachelorette party episode.
I've been off work for the past two weeks and I've been spending a lot of days watching this show. I think season 4 might be the funniest, having Coach come back was amazing.
Glad to see that. I enjoyed her run more than I thought I would, and I wasn't particularly worried about it to begin with.
