Radiosurgery was the first NFG album I heard and it will always have a special place for me for that reason. I'd love to hear them play it in full some day, but I don't think it will ever happen. I think that if nothing else it's a super consistent record.
radiosurgery slaps. such a fun summer record. never understood all the hate for it when makes me sick gets so much hype. that record sucks.
I love how NFG fans are all over the place. I respect your opinion but baffled you don't like Makes Me Sick but love Radiosurgery haha
Ok you guys made me revisit Radiosurgery this morning. Drill it in My Brain and I'm Not the One are actually great, and I've always loved Summer Fling. The rest is incredibly forgettable.
Radiosurgery has grown on me. I really didn’t care for it much when it first came out outside of a handful of songs but like others have said it’s a fine fun summer album. Mid to lower tier NFG but not close to being horrible like Resurrection or Forever.
Just got back from the bar listening to It's Been A Summer. This was supposed to be the lead single before My Friend Over You was even a song. Funny to think how much that song catapulted them into that MTV bubble and led to a ton fo exposure. Without that song they're nowhere near as popular as they became.
Both songs are really catchy so I think they would have been fine, although the tag line “I still my friends over you” is a more universal anthem concept
Does anyone have Better Off Dead and Truck Stop Blues from the Kill It Live release? I’m trying to find them and am having no luck. They were released at some point. They should’ve been included on the final track listing Dammit!
Yup this one and the last one they released are much better than what was on the regular album. I liked the little change in the bridge.
I don't think "Backseat" is likely going to win over a lot of people that weren't impressed by the original album, as I think you could swap it in for Same Side Sitters or Like I Never Existed on the track listing and no one would bat an eye. For me personally, I think it's fast, fun and pretty catchy, and that's all I really care for in New Found Glory. There's also no lines about waiters thinking you look cringey, or calling your girlfriend your trophy but not objectifying her, so that's a plus. I will say, the title "Backseat" made me worry that this could be NFG's attempt at a sex jam, and I've never been more happy to be wrong. I just can't see NFG writing a "Bedroom Talk", ya know?
I was when the original album was as weak as it was, it’s not hard to surpass it. But ill take the improvement, even if it’s a slight one.
Fast, Catchy, and riffage is great NFG. But there’s also got be even just a little substance to the lyrics in that package haha.
Yo so short notice here but any STL users wanna go see NFG tonight, I got a free ticket at The Factory. Only catch is that you gotta hang with a weird dude you met online.
Didn't they premiere 8 new christmas songs during that PPV last year? Wouldn't be surprised if they release them all as an EP next month. Would also love if they put that holiday special up on youtube or available to rent again!
