Was it not Will Pugh that produced “Puzzles”?

Totally agree both Aaron and Will produced much better songs/sounds from the band with Makes Me Sick and FTSTYS3.

Main issue for me with Infinity was that the lyrics felt like they were wrote by a 14 year old. I wanted to hear Will produce original NFG because he captured everything good about the on FYSTYS. Still want Ryan Key to do a song with them. If Aaron came back to work with them on a future release they’d be good too. My issue was lyrics though.

Everyone’s favorite NFG album, Radiosurgery, turns 10 soon.

Finally listened to the new song. I liked it. Lyrics were a lot better. Sounded like it could be a continuation of coming home.

    Radiosurgery is good though.

Radiosurgery definitely has some catchy songs on the first half of the album, but man the second half is a dud for me.

I return to it a lot bc I think it’s a fun summer album. The bonus tracks are good and the Mania EP pairs well with it.

Radiosurgery is super catchy but it has like no substance for me, idk. Hard to explain thoughts on that album really

This is mostly how I feel. There is still just something I can't put my finger on that keeps me from coming back to it very often. If I open up my library/Spotify, that's the last album of theirs that I'll think to listen to.

But, when I do put it on, I find myself singing along to every song....so it's really confusing why my overall impression is that I don't really like it. It's almost like when some pop songs are almost too catchy to the point that they start to get on your nerves.

Memories I don't mind, but I've never been into Trainwreck at all.

I mean... do you guys really go to NFG for substance? They're a fun pop-punk band with catchy melodies and riffs to me which Radiosurgery has in spades

No, but they have far better material to their name than anything on Radiosurgery. Just no reason to ever really go back to that record.

Radiosurgery is not high art but my god, the catchiness of songs like "Drill It In My Brain" and "I'm Not The One" and "Ready Aim Fire" are so much more resonant and compelling than almost all of the rest of the post-Geffen records.
