I can see how it would appeal to some people, but for me, the verses feel clunky (not sure if that's the word I'm looking for) and the chorus doesn't do much for me. It's by no means a bad song though. I gotta have a least favorite on the album, and that's the one.
Oxygen is an okay song, but it really shouldn't have opened the album. The title track would've been perfect.
I think that’s probably why i dont like it as much. Does not sound like an opener. Agree on the title track being a better option.
Coming Home is my favourite record and there isn’t a song or bside that I skip. I also like Oxygen as an opener. It’s punchy, and I always liked that the song left little gaps in the vocals delivery as sort of an inhale/exhale to fit/sell the metaphor oxygen for love/life source. Sets up the album theme quickly.
New Found Glory Look Back On All Of Their Albums This is a good read and answers a ton of questions people have been posing in this thread and the new album thread. Some notes.... Chad says he didn't really write any lyrics/melodies (only riffs) until Coming Home. At the time of Coming Home and immediately after, he was really disappointed in how the album was received so he stepped away from lyric writing for Not Without a Fight. As far as working with Mark Hoppus, they seem to indicate that they had a lot of fun with him and there wasn't any weirdness with him in particular, but they just felt like they were in a weird place as a band. It was coming off of Coming Home which was not well-received in their eyes, so they were forcing themselves to go back to the basics and write what they thought people wanted. They also seemed to miss Neal Avron a bunch at this point and indicated that they were really happy to go back to him for Radiosurgery. I didn't realize that they don't like Not Without a Fight and are surprised when people say that it's their favorite. They weirdly gloss over Resurrection and the new album though so not really much there.
It’s weird to have skipped over an album. Maybe it was a result of a time thing for the interview. Would have been interesting to hear them reflect on the EP, and Screen To Stereo. So nice details though.

Been following the eBay listings and while I'm happy the band is very obviously receiving some financial support through this, I'm also left wondering who has $400+ to spend on a stage banner...and why they appear to be so popular? I'm assuming it's tied to a nostalgic show memory but still. Also, it's crazy how much the signed items are going for.
Yeah. I was somewhat interested in throwing a little money around for something if it was cool. But once I saw the prices, I was like dang. The coming home shirt is cool though, but isn't my size. Had never seen that design before.
It was, and it is very difficult to find. I found one on eBay once and haven't seen one since. New Found Glory - Makes Me Sick Again
People getting unemployment money. Right now in Texas you can make more money on unemployment than working the average 40 hour per week job. That ends soon apparently. But I’ve seen people blowing money left and right and I’ve been jealous because I’ve been working and not making as much as them.
Yes, but I meant there’s only a single short segment about it. They are talking about Radiosurgery and then move on to Resurrection almost like a mistake in the article. There’s no break where the interviewer specifically asks about it nor do they put the album title before the paragraph to signify that’s even the album they are speaking about.
