I remember going to multiple shows at The White Rabbit and being baffled by why bands played their so often. I despise that venue so much. Same with Emo's in Austin
10 times 2004 opening for Green Day 09 NWAF tour 11 Radiosurgery (Pop Punks Not Dead?) 12 Warped Tour 13 Sticks and Stones “10” year tour 14 Ressurection tour 17 Sticks/Catalyst 17 S/T andNWAF 17 S/T and Covers 18 Makes Me Sick Highlights include the Warped set and covers set. Seen them in 6 cities across three states.
First time seeing them was the Honda Civic Tour ‘03 headliner w/ Good Charlotte, MxPx, and The Movielife. I broke my glasses and my mom was very upset with me lol. Saw them a buuuuunch of times in the following years but lost interest after that Senses Gail your they did in Fall ‘07 — felt like they were going to the way of greatest hits sets and I wasn’t really down for that. Only seen them like 4 times since then. They still put on a great show though, the Makes Me Sick show was insane
Man I forget. First time I think was right after 9/11 when they opened for blink then twice for sure with Reggie and the full effect at HOB, 20th anniversary tour for a date, but I know more than that. No amazingly cool stories though.
My favourite time seeing New found Glory was a tiny warm up show they did for a festival in Manchester. They supported themselves as ISOHC and then played a request only set which was a great mix of hits and deep cuts.
New Found Glory Setlist at Club Academy, University of Manchester Students' Union, Manchester The set list, I hadn’t realised this was over ten years ago.
Ah I just remembered another time I saw them, so it's 7 times. 2001: Opening for Blink 182 2002: Radio festival with The Strokes, Jimmy Eat World, Incubus and System of a Down 2002: Headlining tour with Finch & Something Corporate 2002: Radio christmas concert with Box Car Racer, Zwan, Coldplay, Audioslave, Queens of the Stone Age, The Vines 2003: Honda Civic Tour co headliner with Good Charlotte 2004: Radio festival with Beastie Boys, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, The Strokes, Midtown, Yeah Yeah Yeahs 2018: Headliner with Bayside and The Movielife Two other occasions I had tickets for their show but had to bail last minute. Number 8 this summer!
My cool stories: My first show seeing them was in HS. They played at a private college in a small town with I Am The Avalanche and Ivoryline. They had just finished recording Coming Home I believe and it was really my first taste of NFG to that point. There crowd was maybe 50 people, such a cool experience. Secondly, I used to work with Kevin Lyman's nephew who obviously knows people in the industry and he got my wife and I back stage for the Pop Punk's Not Dead Tour. I met most of the Wonder Years guys and Jordan from Set Your Goals. Didn't "meet" any NFG guys but I think I saw Steve smoking weed on the patio area with guys from Man Overboard and others, think Ian came out for a second too. It was Jordan's birthday that day and did see him and wish him a happy birthday on passing as they were walking on stage. Got to watch the whole show side stage which was incredible.
Probably about 5 times. They are definitely my favorite band to see live. The VIP experience I did at one of the shows was great.
Yeah I pretty much grew up there. Sad to say it was the best small venue we had. Others tried to pop up but they never lasted and when the rabbit closed these type of bands stopped coming to SA. So basically if you aren’t big enough to sell out the AT&T Center nobody comes.
Yeah seems like it is getting that way here in Houston too from what I can tell. House of Blues seems to be the one venue everyone comes to and I really hate that venue too
My favourite time seeing them was in a small club in Edinburgh, in 2015. Set was a little heavier on “Resurrection” than I’d have liked but still a great set. Energy was amazing. New Found Glory Setlist at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015
That’s cool. I always say...they may have played songs you didn’t really care that much for, but you’ll probably never see them play those songs live again unless it’s a show where they play the entire album.
best new found glory show was the one where they decided to be their own support band and do two sets
Does anyone know if the original version/demo of Eyesore was ever released on a CD? I tried looking everywhere for any information on it but came up with nothing.
I couldn’t remember where I got it from, but luckily I have the proper album art for it in iTunes. It’s from this comp: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000508W3/?tag=absolutepunk-20
