They didn’t play Kiss Me last night. I’m also thinking about last years tour with AAR - you need songs casuals and potential new fans can cling on. Right call to play that, I wouldn’t love that on a headlining club tour though.
These kinds of shows/tours don’t really do much for me (unless it’s Jimmy Eat World, yet those end up being more like new listening experiences for me rather than being pumped with nostalgia), but this Catalyst tour…in the summer of 2024….yeah, I’m feeling the nostalgia just from photos and live videos.
last i remember he was saying he was going to get tested somewhere so they could learn about his uber rare cancer.
He wasn't at the ATL show, said he was at home battling through it. The have Alan from Four Year Strong filling in and Dave from Real Friends in the background too. Was a great show as always, crowd was hyped from start to finish.
Yeah, true. In the moment it was like... damn they're really blowing through this album. But I'm also old and was happy to be home by 10:20.
that hardcore design with the live shot on the back is sick, i was obsessed with those designs back in the day! i just sold my FYS one on depop!
NFG was a ton of fun last night! They breezed thru Catalyst in full with very little stage banter and played an encore set that included “Part of Your World” “Let it Go” “Understatement” “Hit or Miss” “Hold My Hand” and “My Friends Over You”. Here’s a few snaps from the show.
Funny to see them kind of disown I’d Kill to Fall Asleep on stage last night, specifically because the song brought out a few people into the pit who I didn’t see before or after. L
Ian and Cyrus said they originally didn't want the song on the final album but they were outvoted. Ian also mentioned he was rooting for Constant Static instead.
went to the ATL show and it was a blast. the crowd around where i was standing was pretty flat but i was bouncing around regardless. first time seeing them live and they didn’t disappoint. Hold My Hand has consistently been my favorite NFG song since i first heard it so it being part of the encore was worth the whole show. but luckily they were great from start to finish. it also reaffirmed my stance that Understatement is 10x a better song than My Friends Over You, but it’s not a bad song and i get why it’s such a staple for them/pop punk in general. would recommend catching this show if you can/are interested in it.
My date’s Sunday. Getting excited for what feels like an annual NFG show at this point. After this I’ve seen Self-titled, S&S, Catalyst all in full. Coming Home, you’re next! (Not happening ever)
