Oooh that sucks! Im sure you can find it in Youtube but is not the same. I have some songs/albums that check monthly to see if they are finally available in my country too.
A NFG Facebook fanclub page I follow posted this YouTube video link that someone had digitized from a tape and captures the full set of New Found Glory's first show in support of their self-titled album. Features B-sides like "So Many Ways" and tons of old(er) songs/deep cuts:
Fun video from a show a few years back where a fan requested So Many Ways. They forgot a bit of the song and had a blast trying to get through it. What the video doesn't show is they invited him up, Chad said "look at setlist down here and name a song you want that isn't on it." When he said "So Many Ways" into the mic they all lost it laughing. Ian said something like "geez, international b side, you really want to mess with us huh?" Crowd was laughing and loved the whole thing. Perfect example of why this band is so great live. They just roll with it.
I’m guessing there’s no more beef between Four Year Strong and A Day To Remember since Dan and Kevin are both touring with New Found?
I could have this somewhat wrong, but both bands were on a tour with NFG. Four Year Strong was higher billed than ADTR, however ADTR started blowing up. Four year strong refused to switch spots or give more time to ADTR. “2nd Sucks” by ADTR is about FYS.
Kind of dumb. You take the bill you get, playing in bands should be fun not some kind of crazy competition. I mean can't imagine anyone who likes ADTR not wanting to see FYS and vice versa.
That's pretty funny. I've always been bummed out that Four Year Strong never blew up. They always put on such a great show.
thats correct, but they did get switched on the tour, FYS had to play before ADTR maybe halfway through, it didn't come to chicago so i didn't go.
This AAR/NFG tour is so confounding to me. Tour starts back up tonight and there are still tix for sale in a 4k capacity venue but they sold 15k in NJ on a random Tuesday night, sold out Raleigh (6k capacity), Philly, Tampa sold well but also had major undersells in Buffalo and Indy. Is Pop Punk more regional than I thought?
I wonder if a part of it is that The All-American Rejects are headlining…a band who hasn’t really done much in the last decade aside from a few random singles. I know nostalgia is a huge draw these days but how much of a draw is AAR at this point in time? Just a thought.
There are also 5 dates in California alone and the so cal venues are not that big. San Diego is an outdoor standing-room-only place with like a 7K capacity NFG always sells out House of Blues when they play San Diego
AAR isn’t a huge draw at all. I’d put them on a similar level with NFG though NFG has a much more devout fanbase. I think this was just put together by Live Nation to capitalize on the emo nostalgia with a stacked lineup. Live Nation put the Yellowcard tour together that did awesome but it was in more appropriate venues and YC had been on hiatus for a long time. Though AAR has big hits, I’ve never thought of them as beloved in the scene like Yellowcard is. I don’t think anyone was dying to have AAR play shows again like they were with Yellowcard. Regardless I’m looking forward to Wednesday. It’ll probably draw 3-4K and it’ll be easy to get in/out of the shitty amphitheater that usually takes hours to get out of. I’ve never seen TGUK and haven’t seen MCS since 2008 so that’ll be nice. NFG is always a blast and I can leave before AAR so I’ll get home before 10PM. That’s a perfect week night show haha
Ugh, 23 years. I still remember the thrill of discovering them via It Never Snows in Florida on Limewire or whatever I was using at that point. I was just desperately searching for any bands that sounded remotely like The Get Up Kids.
