Okay that was a blast. A little different than what I had anticipated for sure. They played a ton of their softer songs vs. transposing all of their more popular songs to fit an acoustic rendition so the set list had a lot more rarities. Ian played an electric bass the entire time and Cyrus switched off between playing a full drum kit (with mallets sometimes), rhythm guitar, and a synth. And there were some cameos as well. So the songs were all nice and full sounding but still mostly stripped down. Highly recommend.
“It’s Not Your Fault”, “On My Mind”, and “Too Good to Be”, off the top of my head. I thought there was a fourth, but I can’t think of what it was. They played “Reasons” from NWAF so maybe I just mistook it for a Coming Home song? All of those were early in the set too. Other songs I can remember… Ready and Willing, I Don’t Wanna Know, More and More, Sonny, No New Is Good News, Broken Sound, two covers that I won’t spoil… Then four (?) songs from the new EP and all of the staples from the end of the EP (except no Failure’s Not Flattering)
Okay here for acoustic show tonight in San Antonio. Major blue balls (sorry for expression) this isn't a moshy show....but it's certainly unique? I'm totally in the mood to pit
Lol I am also here and this is kinda awkward? Lol I’ve never been to a show like this here. It’s like being in a very large coffee house. Which I’m sure is the vibe they want
I’m not saying they ever sounded bad before… this is just amazing right now. The new album didn’t do much for me but these songs are incredible live
Good to hear! I wish this were coming near me, think it would be a really unique way to experience these guys after all these years The only time I’ve ever thought these guys sounded bad live was initially after Steve was kicked out and they were touring with only one guitarist. Saw them at Riot Fest Toronto and it just sounded so flat
Exceeded expectations. A lot of coming home. Major hits + new album + coming home + 3 random. I admit i had a few drinks and it helped. But the crowd got pretty into it. Unique experience. I wish they did more storytelling though. I expected a little more banter. I know nfg isn't great at that but this tour screams "stories " and "intimate". Overall ill say worth it and unique....but not sober
I had 3rd row but the lady said we can sit at the bar tables/vip area since it wasn't sold out, so I took her up on the offer. I was essentially right center...had my feet up on a bar with a drink...great little spot. Yeah super weird but I knew that going in. Where were you
When Catalyst came out, we wheeled the game day speakers out of storage on to the baseball field and blasted the CD during varsity practice and, for some unknown reason, our coach let us do it.
I was first row of the balcony. I could have went down there but honestly I was kind of just hanging out there and it was a good view and just kind of relaxing
I was a little worried that the St. Louis date was going to be like that, but luckily it wasn't. Still a lot of seats, but the majority of the crowd was standing and really into the set even though the songs were softened up.
Well the lower seating were all standing up and were mostly in the center aisle I’m just not used to seeing a show like that that didn’t have some pit area
