I mostly really liked radiosurgery on release and mostly really like it now Anthem for the unwanted is so much fun
It's very direct which is a bit jarring considering what these guys tend to write about most the time. It's a beautiful sounding record though!
Put on Radiosurgery again after all the talk and I forgot how much I love this and how catchy it is. The chugginess of the guitars, the sing-along/breakdown nature of the choruses are all fantastic!
I also came way around on it over the years. Used to think NWAF was above it but that’s totally changed the past 5 years.
Funny how later work recontextualizes it. For my money, Radiosurgery and Makes Me Sick are the only good-all-the-way-through albums after Coming Home
Looking at Last.fm, I've listened to the new acoustic album more than I have Resurrection. Sooo, that and Forever are the least played by a pretty big margin.
Came out before Coming Home, but I agree! Catalyst was actually the first album to truly bring me into the pop punk world. Specifically it was the video for Failure’s Not Flattering that did it. I used to watch Loaded on Fuse and tape them on my parents DVR haha. Just realized From the Screen to Your Stereo 2 was after Coming Home. I love that one too, huge part of my childhood.
It wasn't my first pop punk album overall(All Killer No Filler) but it was the first that was the most poppy and made me love pop punk and New Found Glory. For that I'm grateful as it jumpstarted my love for music and helped me find some of my favorite bands!
all time favorite band - but I’m not a fan of these new acoustic songs at all. I’m still seeing them in Feb for the acoustic tour.
