Me. I love Radiosurgery. Fun album. A go-to summer vibe for me. Especially the bonus tracks and Mania EP.
I think if you get rid of the title track (it’s not a bad song, it just doesn’t fit the feel) and add the bonus tracks into the actual runtime, Radiosurgery is excellent. The bonus tracks, as with most NFG bonus songs, really shine, particularly Over Again and Sadness. Bump Dumped into the 1 spot (just a fun bouncer!), slot OA and Sadness in the Dumped spot (Sadness is an GREAT lead in for Summer Fling) and end with Map of Your Body.
I'm going to give this a try because I agree about the bonus tracks, although I'm also a defender of the title track (though I think it was the AP.net review that said it's possibly a bit over-written)
I really like the first new acoustic song they dropped, but the second feels pretty clunky to me. Definitely won’t be one of my favorites
i hate being like 'ive had this for a month' cuz who cares what i have to say but it feels less douchey with it being out soon: I love it, obviously, cuz duh. Lilies is probably their prettiest song ever. Mouth to Mouth and More Than Enough are complete bangers, as banger-y as acoustic songs can be. Bloom is my fav but i agree with what jason said about the lyrics being kinda jarring given the context of the record, whether it's about hayley or not. but dammit that bridge is catchy as hell. the live songs are whatever. I don't even think I've listened to them all the way through lol. I'm surprised they didn't include Sonny since I think that would've fit well. But I would've rather just "officially" had the audio from the practice space acoustic sessions they put on youtube a few years ago
the thing about Bloom is it's one of the album's best songs structurally (IMO), but the lyrics are .... well
Listening to Radiosurgery for the first time in at least 2-3 years now... forgot how fun the title track and then Anthem for the Unwanted are. Haters of this album disperse... And then it goes into Drill It Into My Brain - somehow even more catchy than I remember.
haven't listened to Radiosurgery in at least two years and 'Drill It In My Brain' is still in my head.
Back 1/2 of Radiosurgery is so good! Memories and Battlescars and Trainwreck are super underrated imo
