10 out of 10 times I'd talk about burgers in this thread before reliving whatever just happened for the last 2 pages
Instantly hooked. I love this album so much. Very lucky it was beautiful in NYC today - I walked around the city during lunch and just jammed this. So, so great. Thank you Sprinkle!
Okay yeah this is the most interesting music they've made since probably Coming Home. Really wasn't expecting this, they probably released the two most straightforward songs as the singles. I love the synth and keyboard parts through the whole thing, and I absolutely LOVE Call Me Anti-Social. Probably my favorite song on here, that chorus is phenomenal. They've never made anything I've disliked and I can always count on them to deliver their signature fun and catchy music but it's great to actually be surprised by them again.
Listened to this for the first time yesterday and I absolutley love it. Hands down one of my favorite NFG releases and now all I want is a full album show for this. Favorite songs: The Sound of Two Voices, Call Me Anti-Social, Barbed Wire, Your Jokes Aren't Funny
This is a really great record. I'm in the general consensus that it is so much better than their last 2. Not Without A Fight took maybe 3-4 listens to click to where I loved it. This one hasn't exactly "clicked" yet to where I say "yes I love this record", but I'm instantly hooked on it unlike NWAF. It's guaranteed that I will love it very soon.
Thinking about the Barbed Wire chorus - It would've been fine without the synth, but with it I feel like it adds such a better dynamic to the song. I can't describe it but it's great
Nothing officially released or mentioned, but on they had 4 extra songs on their song board while in the studio.
On first listen nothing struck out at me. I'll have to give it another listen at work next week when I have my headphones in.
No bonus tracks for different countries this time round. They are so gonna release a deluxe edition later on in the year with those 4 tracks on it
I love sticks and stones and i dont want NFG to make another sticks and stones. the drums on this record sounds perfect and the bass lines are very interesting. 10/10 production. This is why i love almost every song: Your Jokes: Classic nfg, great chorus and synths, the last halftime chorus is epic. Party on apocalypse: Great single, the key change at the bridge is sooo cool. Anti-social: One of the best pre chorus of the record. Epic key change, this time in the chorus. Happy being miserable: First single. Everybody loves this song. The sound of two voices: i love the lyrics, the rithym and the melancholy of the song. this is a hit or miss. CALYPSO Blurred vision: Coming home vibes! one of the catchiest chorus. Say it: For some reason this is like a modern version of forget my name. Barbed wire: Its a 80s song. very interesting. Short and sweet: I havent clicked with this song (yet) The cheapest thrill: This sounds like the cure and i love it!
Thanks. Good to know. Maybe they'll release an EP or a deluxe version somewhere along the way. NFG bsides are often really good songs
A deluxe version would be cool. Kinda like what they did with Ascension. As for an EP....I want them to do covers of island jams....Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet stuff. The Sound of Two Voices was strangely natural sounding for them so it got me thinking haha.
Oh yeah, the vocal melody is stupidly good for a song like that. Part of the reason why i think its strangely weird that they pulled off a song like that haha.
Haha, I was going to ask you about that when you made that post earlier. But then I kinda just thought about the lyrics of each song and figured out what you were talking about.
I really, really like this album. It has all the best element of classic New Found Glory with and injection of "Coming Home". I've been hoping for this album since NWAF.
