Reading everyone's positive responses to this album has me stoked to listen to this next week. Been holding off on downloading the leak
Last night I had a dream I was going to the Santa Ana show to see them, but Jordan got really sick and couldn't sing. Instead, Hayley Williams was going to fill in for him. Now I really want a NFG and Paramore spilt where they cover each others songs haha.
I'm actually liking this even more as I'm letting it settle a little bit. "Call Me Anti-Social" might be one of my favorite NFG hooks ever. Almost reminds me of Sticks & Stones. I think the only one I'm not in love with is "Short And Sweet", but the rest of the album is gold.
Just heard 5 minute teaser of the album on some website ....Jesus christ I need it right now...can't wait for Anti-Social and these last two songs that nobody liked too much here lol
Short and Sweet has actually grown on me a little bit, but still think that chorus is super weak. Blurred Vision has grown on me too, the guitar tones in the verses are super good and I love the "bluuurrred vision" part in the prechorus Anti-Social has actually taken a sharp downward turn for me though, decided I can't fuck with that chorus like at all haha
Short and Sweet reminds me most of older NFG. I think it could fit right on S&S...maybe as bonus track, but still.
Speaking bonus tracks/b-sides, I woke up with a hankering to listen to their b-sides and that's pretty much what I've been doing all day. The b-sides from S&S and Catalyst are so good, I almost forgot how much I loved these songs. And totally forgot how much I liked the three songs from Kill It Live
Yes that's what I can see here from what people sayin...the parts of these just sounds pretty cool in in that preview to me...and there are like two killer part of Anti-social which is that synth melody and guitar solo that makes me being excited so much for that song
I really hate the first line of Anti-Social but other than that it's pretty good. Let's stop pretending the last two songs are worse than Say It Don't Spray It though
You all knew it was coming. The Sound of Two Voices Happy Being Miserable Barbed Wire The Cheapest Thrill Blurred Vision Your Jokes Aren't Funny Short and Sweet Party on Apocalypse Call Me Anti-Social Say It Don't Spray It
I put say it, barbed wire, and sound way above, then everything else levels off in the middle, with blurred and cheap thrill thrown away
I'm actually putting Blurred Vision and Short and Sweet at the bottom. But even then, they're still above average NFG songs. I think the album as a whole would benefit from switching The Sound of Two Voices and The Cheapest Thrill in the track order. Just my opinion.
Its still too early for me to rank songs like that. Sound of Two Voices is my favorite, but the rest shuffles too much.
Can't stop listening that teaser lol...and so from I heard so far there is a guitar solo in Say It that reminds music from some late 80s tv shows if there was a saxophone instead of guitar...it whole sounds amazing
