Love the bass line in the chorus of call me anti social and the lead guitar after the second chorus drives so hard. For some reason this song vocally reminds me of sticks and stones

 

Say It Don't Spray It gives me early FOB vibes, i kinda hear 1975 influence in the chorus as well

 

Early FOB should give you NFG vibes.

 

Not really feeling this to be honest. They're still a great live band and props for them trying with this but this was a bummer for me to listen to. Steve did a messed up thing and I totally understand why he got the boot but man, it's kinda clear now how much the band relied on him two albums deep since he's been gone. The lyrics are trash and for god sake, Chad, get a rhythm guitarist or hire one to tour with.

 

Steve did **way** less than he made people believe.

 

Say Steve wins his court case, does the band still hold out on him and refuse to let him come back? Like seeing them Friday was great but some of the songs def needed a second guitarist for them and Chad doing everything didn't really cut the mustard so to speak.

 

From the stories they've told, they couldn't stand Steve anymore. It wasn't just the incident that got him in trouble.

 

In that case, hire a second guitar player then.

 

Agreed. At least for the live shows.

 

Definitely buying this when it comes out but I'm way too excited and impatient so I downloaded the leak. Super stoked for my first listen.

I didn't realize they haven't even hired a touring guitarist. That shocks me. I think Sum 41 is rolling around with three guitarists now. The Foo Fighters have 21 last I checked. NFG can manage it.

 

Yea my initial impression was that the album was pretty front loaded. I hope the rest grows on me.

 

I don't understand that post bc there is rhythm guitar under leads all over the record...

 

I def felt as though the middle back half was the best

 

Best album of 2017 so far for me. The 80s feel on some of the songs works very well.

 

I had no idea this had leaked, and went to their sold out show last night where they had a sign saying you could buy the new record early. I jumped on that, and I really really love what they did with this. I actually have a soft spot for Resurrection due to what was going on my life then, and I really liked the simplicity. But this blows it out of the water for sure.

 

I'll be the minority here and say that I truly do not believe that this is considerably better than resurrection, which I thought was just okay

 

Songwriting it's a bit tighter burn production wise they are on a different planet

 

I like worst person, degenerate, angel, and selfless better than nearly anything on here safe for the first single and barbed wire

 

I like seeing that everyone has different favorite parts/songs on this album.

I'm obsessed with this album. Enjoying it much more than California, which is crazy for me bc I'm almost always bias towards anything Blink-182.

Nah, Radiosurgery is better than NWAF and Resurrection.
