And everything fell apart for them at the label before they could release one of those as the second single. I remember they were even on the sticker when buying the CD.
Agree with the fumble but by that stage the FOB/Panic style had taken over leaving NFG behind a little.
Yeah those two acts had taken over but “It’s Not Your Fault” is not truly representative of the sound on Coming Home. The two songs previously mentioned would have made such a difference for the fickle listener in 06/07. Possibly could have heard more songs from the album as set staples.
Love how I’m now the band’s PR guy. Magazine from Canada profiled NFG and interviewed Chad. Some takeaways: - Texts with Mark from Blink from time to time and got to meet up with him and Tom when Blink was on tour in Nashville - Talks about re-recording Coming Home in a heavier NFG style record and have the fans debate if it’s better as a guitar or piano driven album - Mentions how Green Day was a big punk influence on him growing up (this is the 3rd or 4th interview in the lead up to this album where the band mentioned Green Day…potential opening act for them in ‘27?)
Pretty obvious how the fans overall would prefer a guitar driven album over a piano one. I hope they don’t ever re-record it.
New Found Glory: “For me, the album is about encouraging people to take their dark times and reverse them!”
like almost every re-record I’d listen to it once say to myself “that’s cool” and just go back to the original lol
I love re-recordings. Give me as many re-recordings as the band wants. The original will always be there. Anything else is just fun/extra.
I’d love another piano record. They can re-record Coming Home with guitars as long as another record gets re-recorded with a piano.
I feel like they’ve missed on the initial single several times. INYF, LTYF (debatable), Radiosurgery, GOAT.
Don’t re-record it. I think what would play best is if the band were to approach the songs as a cover band. Like how would NFG do these songs live? Slightly different tempo? Different tuning on the guitars?
What would you have picked for NWAF? I thought LTYF was a good pick and still one of my favorites from that album.
LTYF was probably the easiest single choice from any of their albums, relative to the rest of the songs
