The same thing happened to me with an Instagram post he made months ago. He wrote ‘this is probably the latest birthday post ever’ and I totally misunderstood it (english is not my first language).
I’ve said it before but the production/mixing team behind Makes Me Sick was, likely, the best they’ve ever had. And for a more melodic/less aggressive NFG album, it’s fantastic. I return to it more often than many of their records.
I think Coming Home is peak NFG for sound. But I may need to revisit MMS on that aspect since there is still classic NFG on that album.
Lots going on in the interview, especially Chad’s perspective on life and his every day struggle but two interesting things from this interview for me: - Jordan’s kids listening to punk and getting in the pit during last summers Offspring tour - Dan from FYS is now a permanent touring member of the band
Cyrus just did an interview with an Italian outlet and said My Friend Over You stopped getting promotion during its cycle as the record label started pushing another non-rock artist that flopped and wonders how big the song/band could’ve been if they got that consistent push. Not sure who he was referring to.
Interesting to hear since i thought that song did pretty good for them. Looks like it went gold as a single, made top 5 on the alternative chart, and made the US top 100.
Yeah maybe I was just living in my 14 year old bubble, but that felt like the biggest song at the time. If you ask me the biggest fumble their label made was a few years later making “It’s Not Your Fault” the lead single for Coming Home instead of the title track or On My Mind.
