All i ask from NFG lyrics is that theyre not just super embarassingly cringe. theyve had a tough time of that over the past few years (some of the stuff ive seen from Forever and Ever X inifity is absolutely brutal), but this album's lyrics are back t just kind of normal pop-punk cheesiness.
I feel like if 'Laugh it Off' had a poppier riff, it could be a hit. I love the song, but the grittier riff doesn't really mix well for me with the rest of the song. Loving this album, wasn't really on board at first but it has been winning me over listen after listen. It could be my favorite after their amazing 2000-2006 run (never really got into NWAF).
coincidentally, I just threw on that vinyl because I was doing some re-organizing. My six-year-old daughter was absolutely digging it. Really seemed to like don’t let her pull you down
I really would benefit them to work with a songwriter for their next album. They have a lot of good ideas but the lyrics really need some polishing.
So happy to hear him call Coming Home his 2nd favorite NFG record. Also shocked that he ranked Radiosurgery at #3. Crazy that next year is the 30 year anniversary. I really hope they do the 3 night album plays again. I'll never forgive myself for selling my ticket for the Coming Home/Sticks and Stones night in LA 9 years ago.
I don't blame Tugs, I blame cricketandclover for bringing up The Used in a NFG thread. They know better.
While mentioning how he loves Coming Home, Jordan said he wishes they had released Hold My Hand as the first single
I've finally been getting around to spinning this and it's definitely a whole lot better than the last one but I still think Makes Me Sick was a lot better. I'd probably put this at around the Resurrection/NWAF level. Some bangers for sure
I’m not sure he was calling it his favorite? More like it's the album that best encapsulates the NFG sound for someone new to the band.
