You're not the only one. The first version I heard of Dream Born Again was the electric one.

My list, though I would give Makes Me Sick 1.5 and Resurrection Deluxe 3.5. And I would bump the FnExI deluxe songs/EP only up to 2. Backseat, Ferris Wheel and Puzzles are all rippers.

The three extra songs they added to Makes Me Sick (Again) are so good too…any list I’d make would include that edition of the album.

    My ranking.

    Tier 1 - GOAT shit
Self Titled (probably my #1 pop punk record of all time)
    Sticks and Stones

    Tier 2 - really good
    Catalyst
    Not Without a Fight
    Listen Up
    Coming Home
    NGCS

    Tier 3
I dont really listen to any of their other albums. So they can all go in here tied.

this cant be overstated. i love how this album sounds. im sure theyre doing their share of digital manipulation on this album, but overall, it sounds so much more organic than a lot of albums in the last ten years. the guitars sound great and the drums actually sound like real drums. weird concept

I’ve never really had an issue with the actual songs on Resurrection, but they lack any sort of punch and feel really hollow because of the lack of a second guitar when compared to everting that came before.

Agree with everything about this post.

1 - Self-titled / S&S are my top back to back releases of this era. The chunkier sound always kept them top of my list.
2 - Don't rate Makes Me Sick (start of the awkward vocal patterns and melodies that peaked with Forever).
3 - Yes, I see Neal Avron mixed it. The real-sounding drums and guitars make this album much more palatable than many of the other big scene releases over the last 2 year which ended up sounding robotic. NFG always retained that sense of integrity over their sound I feel.

I always thought Selfless had great energy live.

The nitpicking about songs that all sound more or less the same is funny to me, the narcissism of small differences

Never understood the hate for Resurrection some really good songs on there imo. Selfless and Ready and Willing are probably my favorite singles from them since that timeframe too

The Hayley Williams version is so much better than the original. But I like both versions.

One More Round, On My Own (that bridge!!), Selfless, Living Hell etc etc. Resurrection Deluxe is cool too. The Enemy and The Crown plus all the acoustic songs are great.

    I will clarify:

Resurrection has some very good songs (Selfless and Ready and Willing for me) but the single guitar just does not sound like NFG. The deluxe fills this out a little bit, but I still remember the disappointment the first time I heard many of them, which is hard to shake.

The album art for resurrection was atrocious though.
