Yeah i continue to dig this album. Great to listen to from start to finish (minus you got this). Medicine is still great.
Might regret this post but 4 full spins in: medicine best song on here (and I'm a big fan of the album)
the verses of Medicine are kinda strange. Jordan's voice kinda sounds like Ryan Key. the chorus is fine. im like 3 listens in and Im kind of surprised how much i enjoy this.
Speaking of vocals, I really think Dream Born Again could have benefited from being recorded a half step down.
Medicine is probably the most interesting song the band has written since Makes Me Sick. Another round of edits on the lyrics and delivery of the verses could have pushed it to a top song for the band. But I could see how others think it’s the worst or ruins the flow of the album.
I had Chad on my podcast a few weeks ago and that episode dropped today, diving into the new album, next year being the 30th anniversary of the band, creating his own zine and a bunch of other stuff. He was also pretty open about his health recently - thankfully it sounds like he's steadily on the up. Spotify: EP #187 - Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory / ex-Shai Hulud / ex-Hazen Street / ex-Tension) Apple Podcasts: EP #187 - Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory / ex-Shai Hulud / ex-Hazen Street / ex-Tension)
Most (semi) recent pop punk albums haven't grabbed me, including those by veterans, but this rips. Frankenstein's Monster is my fav. No skips.
what do you mean by "the original"? did they record a different version of this earlier? i actually really dig this song. honestly, this album kinda fucks...what a pleasant surprise
